Mightywolves questions

By mightywolve, in Talisman Rules Questions

So saturday we played a game of Talisman and were left with a few questions:

1. Can a Toad gain or pickup objects?

2. If you are transformed into a Toad on the city, and when it's your turn you move space. Then on your second turn, can you move back to the city and pick up the items? If not, what you should on the city?

3. If there are items on the city, and you pick them up, do you still have to roll for the city?

4. When you emerge from the dark lord and you lose and land on the crags, do you have to roll for the crags?

5. Can you sell the False Grail at the Alchemist?

Thanks in advance!

1. Can a Toad gain or pickup objects?

- no

2. If you are transformed into a Toad on the city, and when it's your turn you move space. Then on your second turn, can you move back to the city and pick up the items?

- no

2.5. If not, what you should on the city?

- you can (and probably will have to) visit the enchantress

3. If there are items on the city, and you pick them up, do you still have to roll for the city?

- if you weren't a toad, yes

4. When you emerge from the dark lord and you lose and land on the crags, do you have to roll for the crags?

- no because you lost a battle and therefore your turn ends

5. Can you sell the False Grail at the Alchemist?

- you can transmute any object at the alchemist unless it says otherwise (and I don't recall any that does that)

Thanks :) .

Where does it say so about the Toad, couldn't find it on the card or in the manual.

The False Grail says that you must take it and can only be exchanged at the Castle?

Thanks :) .

Check the Toad card again. It's there.

As to the False Grail, that is the only place that you can discard it. However, ANY object may be exchanged for a gold at the Alchemist (or with the Alchemist follower or the Alchemy spell). This is always an alternate for the items which have restrictions as to when/where they may be discarded.

So also Cutbacks in the City or the Chasm in the middle region can be use to get rid of followers such as the Poltergeist or the Hag.

Encountered something similar today on the false grail.

We decided that since it's a restricting item (makes you lose or ditch something, keeps you from doing something, etc.) much like a cursed object, you must meet the specifics of its requirements. You shouldn't be able to just willy nilly turn it into gold as this defeats the purpose of encountering it. (or any cursed objects/people for that matter) In this case you have to take it to the castle before you can take on another quest, though you can , if you have the Alchemist as a follower, turn it into gold when you reach the castle.
