I was just curious if this list would be viable. It isn't very "flashy", but if things line up like I think they do, this list can be great at "attack runs". If this idea has already been posted, I apologize, as I'm new to the site, but I just picked up Howlrunner, and wanted to try a couple lists with her. Here's one of the lists:
Attack Runners - 99 points (initiative bid)
"Howlrunner" w/ Swarm Tactics
"Quickdraw" w/ Collision Detector, Special Ops Training
"Backdraft" w/ Collision Detector, Special Ops Training
Zeta Specialist w/ Collision Detector, Special Ops Training
The idea is that Howlrunner allows ships to re-roll dice when they attack with their primary weapon. Since the Tie/SF's have a front and auxiliary firing arc, they use their primary weapon for both, so I'm assuming that Howlrunner's ability will trigger if they use either. When Special Ops Training is used, you'll get an attack from the front AND the auxiliary arc when available. Since they are treated as separate attacks, I'm assuming that you will get Howlrunner's ability on both attacks. The upgrades that I own are a bit limited, so I decided to use the two named SF pilots. I'm a minimalist anyway.
Quickdraw is great because he has the possibility of having 4 attacks a turn when he loses a shield (Christmasland scenario). Howlrunner will therefore allow 4 re-rolls for Quickdraw if this happens.
Backdraft will just add insult to injury, making his auxiliary-arc attacks that much more damaging, after getting re-rolls from Howlrunner.
What do you think? I would greatly appreciate any suggestions.
