I played my first skirmish game tonight. My opponent had a couple skirmish games of experience under his belt, but I won both games pretty soundly. First mission was the one from the Inquisitor pack where you have to pick stuff up and bring them to the correct terminal (Kashyyyk Outpost map) and the second was from the Greedo pack where you have to destroy power cells on the opponent's side of the map (Hangar Bay map). I played Imperials and built this list from almost a full pool. He played Rebels.

Thoughts? I don't really know what's synergistic, so I just threw a bunch of good-looking cards together.

That looks great for a first list. One thing you might want to consider is one deployment of elite storm troopers, as they're very good and allow you to use reinforce and grenadier. You may also think more about trying for having more common traits so your command cards can be used by more figures, but that's more important in other sorts of lists. Also, if you have it you should find a way to add Zillo. Welcome to skirmish!

Normally no, but the 1-point "Temporary Alliance" overrides that

Note though you only may include deployment cards. So you cannot include other factions' skirmish upgrade cards (ex. play as Imperial -> take Temp Alliance -> may take Merc -> take Temp Alliance -> take Rebel is illegal)

The twins lists are always quality (Luke, Leia, Gideon, C3PO, Lando, eSabs, alliance Smuggler, and RHC is my list). But Scum is about to dominate the meta for awhile. They new wave brought in a bunch of new figures for several awesome lists. So really it's wide open. An awesome time to join :-)

half your list was made of mercenaries, so I would be dubious about " Imperials always win" talk even with your own experience. I've found that experience almost always wins. So someone with a decent list who knows how to play it and has practice will beat the "top" lists 9/10 if the opponent doesn't have as much practice or experience.

I would also say that almost everything in the last 2-3 releases is pretty darn balanced and all of it is useable. Most of the Core-Twin Shadows set is still useable, it's just not all balanced (some of the characters aren't up to snuff imo)
