I feel like two isn't really hitting the sweet spot, Defenders strike me as a squad you should use 4+ of.

Possibly, but having only bought one Squadron pack, and not being much of a squadron player to begin with, I want to give the pair of them a try before I decide to splash on another one.

I was advised over and over again when I started into this game to get multiples for the squadron packs for each side. I got one for each, and decided to see where I'd go from there. One turned out to be more than enough, considering most of the time they only see use when borrowed rather than through me. Going to follow suit with this release, and see if I really do need/want more.

Played against PartyPotato last night. Maarek and just a couple of friends burnt down Morna Kee, Bossk and Valen in no time and went on to bombing.

But I am struggling with painting them and would appreciate any advice from the Maestro please!

Ever since summer I've had two simple wishes: let Maarek be 22 or less and a basic Defender be 16 so I could run 8. Now it's happened I feel obligated to swarm!

Played twice with them in 6+ builds. It was wondeful to speed 5 everywhere but deciding what you want to actually do with your Defenders is surprisingly hard. Am thinking that they are go to for space superiority followed by bombing which means Intel and Rhymer aren't so important. Next up I'm going to see what they are like paired with Vader and IG.

So did you actually buy 4 imp2 squadron packs to get 8 defenders?

What do you plan on doing with the 6 Lambdas, 4 decimators and 8 phantoms that you now have that you will probably never use?

I bought three having won a pack in a tournament. I've always loved the Defender going back to 90s 'TIE Fighter' days. But the other craft just don't do it for me. Especially the 'end of squadrons phase' phantoms and the 'what is this for' Decimator. Will experiment. But I will probably just see if someone else needs them!

That's how I got my wave 5 squadrons. I swapped 2 VCX and 2 Lambdas for a coffee. I have a 4 month old so I don't have the time to paint another 32 stands of squadrons so I just got the strategics, and they are amazing.

I'm not that competitive, so the rest of the squadrons don't really offer anything which I can't do with the squadron pack 1 fighters, now that I can shuffle around the aces to pick the best ones from the Corellian Campaign. That new Y-wing ace makes Dutch Vader look pathetic!

I feel you want to bring just enough to deal with your opponent squadrons. Too many and your needing to make bombing runs with them after trying to get some value for the investment.

I have 4, and I think that is enough. In reality I doubt I use them much. If I need a single Maarik is pretty great for his cost. I'm sure he will be on the table some.
