Ghoul Spawn

By Cplwilks, in CoC Rules Discussion

Just a quick clarification really;

Ghoul Spawn states

Action : Sacrifice Ghoul Spawn to put one Ghoul character into play from your hand. Use this Effect only if it is Night

Does Degenerate Ghoul count as a Ghoul? I know it sounds stupid but Ghoul Spawn has the Ghoul Subtype whilst Degenerate Ghoul does not. Small Ghouls are also in the same boat, and Slavering Gug is also similar.

Are these cards classed as what's in there name or not?

Hope that makes sense or do I just come across as a babbling nutcase?,,,

yea know what you mean, there are some ghouls that dont have that in theor sub type, but i think they must have ghoul in their sub type to qualify

Darknight is right.

A card must have the GHOUL sub in a way to benefit from cards that interfers with ghouls.

Degenerated ghouls are not consider GHOULS, as they don't have the subtype (its normal, they are degenarated, aren't they?). you are right speaking abotu Slavering Gug, Small Ghouls ...., they are not considered Gugs and Ghouls ....

Really GHOUL is a very new subtype, so we have to wait to see if it is a retroactive effect.... maybe in FAQ.

That's what I thought - It's the way I was playing it but I had a query from a new player so thought i'd ask!

Thanks for the replies happy.gif
