How come I never see this combination? It seems like the most obvious thing in the world, is there something bad about it that I'm missing?

It's rarely seen because it costs 5 points and 2 crew slots, which only 2 Rebel ships can handle. The YT almost always takes C3PO + a Gunner or Hot Shot Copilot. A Ghost/VCX could actually make decent use of the combo, though, especially if it was equipped with FCS. You get fully modified attacks as well as an evade token for 42 points! The problem is that that's not as good with the Autoblaster Turret people like to take.
