Hidden sniper encounter

So I ran this, It was successful. The players took a few hits and it raised the tension. The attacker had an initiative slot where he would shoot at anyone not in cover. Also on their threats/failures they would get a graze or some other effect.

I'm glad it worked out!

Definitely some great ideas in this thread.

Another idea I had. If this was a player doing an assassination this is a great opportunity for a single roll resolution, though really probably two rolls. Stealth/Streetwise/Deception to get into position depending on the circumstances or approach. For the actual assassination have the player roll Cool vs Vigilance as the resolution. Why cool instead of Ranged (Heavy)? The sniper has to maintain calm, patiently wait for the right moment, and ignore any distractions. Just seems like it would be more fun of a roll.

For ambushing the players, I really like the idea above of having the players roll their initiative against the sniper's stealth. If the sniper was able to get into position, or I flipped a dark point to say the sniper was, I would give that sniper a free shot as the cause to roll initiative.
