All setup last night and ready for Hero selection tonight. Who will they choose??? Can't wait to find out!
If I can get the camera right and if we have enough Bantha Milk Cocktails, I may stream on Twitch.
More pics to follow.

Nice, are those hero cards sleeved? If so what do you use? I have all the other cards with FFG sleeves but have no idea what to use for those huge hero cards lol
There are sleeves out there for them, but the easiest is to just laminate them. Or not bother, after a dozen campaigns all my cards are still fine and I haven't sleeved anything.
I can't remember where, but someone found sleeves that fit the Descent/IA hero sheets for a good price.. maybe someone else can fill us in. I've never bothered to sleeve my heroe sheets and not quite a dozen campaigns but close to it they look brand new. I do sleeve the cards though I find they see a lot more abuse.
edit: Also grats on the new campaign, looks like it will be a good night!
Edited by FrogTriggerI see you have also gone above and beyond with the 3D models for the crates and terminals. It's the little things that can make the campaign all the more immersive.
Also, if this will be your first campaign, may i suggest looking at the multiple new player guides and common mistakes that are littered about the internet. As it is also the small mistakes that can make/break a mission.
First campaign? That's a lot of components (and painted minis!)
Hope you enjoy!

Yes sir! I got them for $30ish bucks from a 3d printer dude in California. Can't decide on how to paint the crates and terminals! I primed them and put colored dots on the bottom for mission purposes. Doors are painted though!
A great tip about the common mistakes. I have read the one over on BGG and several others. I'm quite the lurker. Very helpful, this game can get surprisingly twisty.

I laminated them
Worked great, very easy.
I also laminated ALL of my campaign maps from the expansion packs. Pretty neato!

aaaawwwww thanks man!
35 minis painted, only 87 to go! phew.
Of course if anyone chooses an unpainted hero, I know what my project/projects are for next week!
I thought for extra fun every player should get their own custom painted Nerf Star Wars blaster. If they can shoot an empty soda can off a ledge on the other side of the room, they get a surge!
So awesome!
Quick tip: Don't let them choose Gideon and as an Imperial don't play Subversive Tactics. Both are major fun-suckers.
I did a quick search and found the sleeves for any interested:
If you are like me and don't like permanently altering game pieces these are a great option
So awesome!

You really believe this! I read you posting that somewhere else yesterday
is Gideon anti-fun because the player ends up using the action to let someone else fire all the time, and he doesnt get to attack himself? Or is he just broken strong? I choose Military Might.
So awesome!

Military Might is very fun!
In my experience he is broken-strong. To beat him you have to strain him out, which is what Subversive Tactics is about. ST basically robs the heroes of their super-poweredness and Gideon FORCES the Imperial to have to take that strategy. It's a circle of fun-sucking.

We would welcome you with cold Bantha Milk and relentless insults for every lucky Dodge roll, X-Wing Jesus!

I do agree that ST makes the game more dull as more strain = less hero abilities = less hero flair = less uniqueness = less fun.
But in terms of Gideon, perhaps you have just not dealt with him correctly? I mean no offense by that but "broken-strong" might be going overboard.
Gid is a support character. As such, he is only as strong as his allies are. Command will only ever activate once (twice if you have Masterstroke) per activation. There are a lot of factors that go into taking him down, as well as variables in items, team compositions, and the like. However, I have found a lot of success in focused fire and proper unit management. He only has 10 hp and a black die. Hit him hard and he becomes wounded fairly easily. (More consistently because he rolls black die defense. No pesky dodge to worry about).
Edited by The Lext LevelYa I always focus Gideon first in every mission when he is on the board. And I always warn the Rebels ahead of time I am going to do that in case they want to swap the pick. They usually say "Don't worry man we will protect you!" To the poor sap who has to play him. You can't just leave Gideon while you focus other heroes because with him on the board, blow up lots of stuff and still complete objectives is actually a viable Rebel strategy. So he has to be neutralized to force them back to the regular decision of kill or objectives.
My experiences with Gideon might be tainted though as he has always been paired with Fenn and his tactical movement, those two should not be played together.
You know, you are probably right about Gideon. Almost all of the campaigns I play are against my wife, and we only play two characters. A legendary Gideon is insane, but one with normal health/activation count probably not too broken.
I played Gideon and Davith together in Bespin and was an absolute nightmare for my wife to deal with. Won't ever do it again. :-)
Edited by Boba RickWhen you play games with just your wife, the describing of the game comes off sounding subtly kinky. No way around it!

That indeed sounds like a pain. I usually run 4 heroes no matter what. Even if that means a player controls multiple heroes. I feel that the game is just more balanced that way.

And that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Not sure what you're referring to, but my wife has tried to seduce me to the dark side while playing this game

"You mean she controls your actions?"
"Yes... But she also obeys your commands."
