Cards and units that put -1 to hit points. Does that out and out kill units iit takes them to 0, or can units only be brought down to one min? Wondering cause vile sorcs are either very very powerfull, especialy in pairs or trios, or just kind of helpfull.

Ville Sorceress is powerful card and YES - it can kill unit when it has 1 point of life, or if you have them 2-3 it can kill more powerful creatures. This is only temporary minus so if this will not kill unit or after that when in battle this unit will not be killed - temporary hit points are removed.

Vile Sorceress stacks and the ability lasts from the beginning of your turn all the way through the resolution of combat and the end of your Battlefield Phase. The rulebook says on page 13 , "Any unit that has as many (or more) damage tokens on it as it has hit points is destroyed (and discarded)." so this would include having 0 damage tokens on it and having 0 hit points.
