This being the first Friday of the new year, I thought it might be fun to switch up a thing or two for 2017 posts.

If you had to start your X-wing playing over again, what would be your first purchase after a starter and extra dice?

Hmm, assuming TFA starter, I'd probably go for another FO, a SF, and HotR. Maybe toss in Imperial Veterans for giggles.

Most Wanted. Start all 3 factions at the same time. I like options.

Happy Friday! I had a great time at the store tonight playing X-wing and even Star Wars Destiny. I got to bungle the IG-88 mission, as well.

What would I get after the starter? I'd still say the Tie Advanced. I love Vader and with Swarm Leader, he's awesome again. Make Vader great again!

I started late and am not sure I would change much, though I would have bought the original core rather than TFA (I traded out the Rebel X-Wing and pilots from TFA) and kept Biggs and R2D2. From there my early purchases were:

Two Khiraxz (I got a great price on them)

Most Wanted

StarViper

HWK

Instead of the Aggressor, maybe a Y-Wing, so I'd balance out Rebels forces

As a Scum, the JumpMaster was inevitable, but one is fine, thank you.

I don't regret getting two Protectorates at all

Imperial Vets was a must and so was the extra Defender

Onward to IX and upward.

Rebels: Falcon, A-wing (or Aces)

Imperials: Aces, TIE

Or Most Wanted

Rebel Aces or Ghost or HOTR. All great ways to start a rebel fleet.

If I started with absolutely nothing at all. I'd go to a system open series and get me a Vader damage deck. Then I'd buy two dice pakcs and some aftermarket templates. Then I might go with 2 Ghosts. I've always wanted to play without a core set.
