Painted Descent is best Descent
I use the OttLite, it is amazing and very affordable.

Looks good! If you are using your phone, set the mini down against a contrasting color like on a white piece of paper. Shine a spot light close on it, and brace your hand holding the phone against something so eliminate shake. Other than that, make sure you aren't so close that it can't focus. Use the macro feature of your camera if you have to manually turn that on.
wow well-painted figures look so much better than the base ones!
Got Shadows of Nerekhall knocked out. Really have to say I'm very disappointed with the quality of many of the figures in this set. The faces especially on the heroes are terrible. Orkell basically has the face of a skeleton, and Tinashi's looks smashed flat. Oh well.

Just finished Trollfens
Love that big ogre thing with the metal shields tied to it...great level of 'worn' metal look on them and a great model all round by the looks of it.
Question- I only have the core set atm, if I bought a monster/hero pack, can they be introduced right into the core campaign?

That's Bol'Goreth, the lieutenant in the Trollfens expansion. I love that figure. It's a troll that was bad ass enough to turn a giants head into a weapon.
As for hero/monster packs, they can be introduced in at any time.
Got Manor of Ravens knocked out.

I took a painting break for a couple months due to discovering the awesomeness that is Elite Dangerous in VR. Got back to it with Mists of Bilehall and its three lieutenants.

Nice work as always @Kaaihn.
Hopefully Elite Dangerous VR gets released for the PSVR 8}... till then I have Valkyrie.
And yeah... Nerikhall completely killed my momentum for painting Descent. Took a break myself and started painting zombicide BP instead, but now that the group is back playing Descent again, I really should get back onto it.

Thanks Silidus! I have not tried Valkyrie yet, I'm sure I will at some point. If you ever get the chance, definitely give ED a try in VR, it's mind blowing. I looked at it a couple times but never had any real interest in it until I tried it in VR. Then it blew me away instantly, it's a whole different game. Probably one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had.
I just have The Chains That Rust left now to paint of the boxed expansions, then it's on to all the heroes and monster packs. I have them all, just sitting here waiting. My players all agreed that they would rather wait for me to paint something than add a plain gray figure to the painted game, so they are just collecting dust until I get to them. Think I'll do the pack with Elder Mok first after Chains, I hear he's amazing as the Bard.
Edited by KaaihnAnd finally, the final box expansion, done. This is The Chains that Rust. That's all 7 boxed expansions, base game, and all 20 lieutenants complete. Now on to heroes and monsters!
Wow, what a milestone! Nice work.
Little details really make such a difference sometimes. I painted up these doors and portcullises before starting on heroes and monster packs. Highly recommend these over the cardboard ones!

PORTCULLIS MEN! PORTCULLIS!!!! (Had to shout that for Rifftrax)
Well since I did doors and portcullises, I wanted to do something with overgrowth as well. Undergrowth made great overgrowth.
Nice! Any plans on the Walls from Mists/Chains?

Cool!
exceptional work here, you don't get much better than that, even if you see color.
Nice work. I feel another "whack the bush"-joke coming...
What beautiful work !!
I'm going to attempt painting mine, too. Games do look much more polished with painted miniatures.
Did you prime your figures first and, if so, what brand do you use ?
Thank you

Thanks! I do prime them first, a light spray of GW Corax White.
After a couple month break I picked up my brushes again and got Oath of the Outcast H&M pack done
