Jumpmasters and Trandoshan: new life and options

HI all,

I'm testing this old list after "Deadeye" nerf.

In fact I still believe that Contracted Scout with torpedoes is still a very good ship to play with, but is easier playing Dengaroo, Mindlink Aces, Defenders, Corran-Miranda and so on.

The problem now is that you can't perform an alpha attack during your first shooting phase, but I can't see any other kind of formation that can do something like this.

I'm just trying to play this list, that can face very easily against the most kind of list in the current meta (IMHO):

I tried playing Jumpmasters with "K4 Security droid" instead of r4 agromech, but I don't like it due to the low pilot skill (hard to acquire TL on aces in early game).

Any suggestion?

I would say it would fit well with the meta. Jumpmaster is still broken, even with the deadeye fix. But in saying that, other ships are broken too. It started with that wave and the power creep has reared it's ugly head more since. Don't get me wrong. The game is still fun, just if you want to be competitive you either do a list like this or Commonwealth Defenders.

I feel if you miss the hard alpha strike from 3 J-Masters you may want to try something with Tie bombers loaded with LRS and Homing Missle. They don't have quite the staying power as the J-Masters, but you may be able to squeeze and extra ship or maybe a pair of pilots with skills.... might be worth toying with

All get TL's on first move, set-up run for landing range 3 alpha, everyone focuses, BOOM

Not perfect, but I like that combo on my Deathfire

I feel, after watching a similar list be played, that the party bus is an effective ace killer thus improves the jumpmasters list immensely as that was one of their weaknesses (2 dice pwt against Autothrusters on 3+ green dice not so good chances). As long as the user is familiar with the ship's play style it will work against the majority of lists

Last Saturday I played this list in a local store tournament (13 players).

Report:

1st game vs Ghost (Kanan pilot, tlt, ghost, fcs, tactical jammer, recon specialist, Jan ors), Biggs (r2-d2, IA), Phantom (zeb pilot, title)

Strange match. I underused trandoshan, but in the end it killed Biggs and took half ghost.

2nd game vs Rey (Finn, new title, kanan, ID, VI) Miranda (tlt, Sabine, bombs)

First target was Miranda (destructive in late game), destroyed and then i focused on yt-1300. My opponent destroyed my 2 jumpasters but trandoshan made his job and killed it.

3rd game vs Mindlink scum (fenn rau, old teroch and manaroo with plasma torpedoes)

Party bus MVP. Destroyed 2 aces alone, after my 1st jumpmaster was destroyed before it could even shot. Destroyed manaroo with my last ship on the field with plasma torpedoes.
