Also unless Filoni goes against canon the Rebels cannot win any of these space battles we get to see in the trailer. The Battle of Scarrif is the first "victory" according to A New Hope's opening scrawl.

Tua gets blown up on screen.
I mean, sure she was a villain, but she was blown up a split second after it appeared she was safe.
So, its decently dark. It's no rogue one, but its not your typical disney either.

This looks... exceptionally legit. And Rogue One dark.
Yup, about as dark as any Disney cartoon for children. We know half those Rebel characters cannot die and the other half are the Ghost crew will not die, so how dark can it really be?
This isn't directed specifically at you, Biggs, but I'm so tired of seeing so many adults hyper-defending Rebels by saying that it's actually really mature and heavy and for adults.
Its irksome when grown people try to justify their love of something by acting like it's heavier, darker, or more profound than it actually is. Like, it's a kids' cartoon with flashy action and pleasing colors and cool-looking ships and explosions and it fills in more of the Star Wars lore and world. That's all very cool, and it's reason enough to enjoy it. Bet let's not try to pretend that it's Saving Private Ryan or Green Mile or Requiem for a Dream or something, because it's not and it will never be. It's a cartoon that cannot, due to audience, kill characters (Filoni mentioned as much re: Ahsoka's unshown showdown, and even mentioned that we very well may still see Ahsoka again in the future because she may have survived). Hell, the cartoons have only managed to unkill characters (oh hey Darth Maul).
You're the second person today that's tried to suck all the fun out of a conversation. Carry on, destroyer of joy and happiness.

Did I mention that there are TIE Defenders doing TIE Defender things?
Because TIE DEFENDERS!

Your canon is old.
Quit livin' in the past, GK... Its over. Gone.
Here's a theory: Tie Int's and Defenders are all slated for use in Vader's squadron, but some of the TIE/D's get stolen via their hyper drive and the Rebels rebels plot armor. This necessitates the immediate halting of all advanced fighter research for the time being. Vader force chokes the S4 trying to take back his advanced and that's why he keeps it.
Linked to time. What is this? A new Rebel Fighter? Someonebody in chat said they are in Xwing but they can't rember the name. Play a .5 speed. 2:32 time.
Probablly this? https://images-cdn.fantasyflightgames.com/filer_public/eb/57/eb573653-abe8-4de7-8579-44badcdfddf3/swx55_preview.jpg

I think it is safe to say that with the more recent appearences we will most likely see the Braha'Tok added to the game, now with the Rebels getting all these new ships I wonder if te Empire will see some new ship or if they will start to dip into legends or the prequels by releasing the Venator or the Acclamator.
Well the Imperial Carrier (which the Rebels stole) is still an obvious candidate for a new ship for the Empire. But, yeah, otherwise the Empire is stretching a bit. Compared to what we've seen for the Rebels:
- MC75 Profundity from Rogue One
- Hammerhead Corvettes from Rebels + Rogue One
- Dornean Gunships from Rebels + Rogue One + Return of the Jedi
...not sure. Certainly, we did see the Venator-class in Imperial colors (very end scene of Episode III), so that's not impossible, but...the Acclamator never was, and neither have been seen in any show since. I'd almost prefer a re-release of the Imperial Star Destroyer with new Commanders and crew, but...odds of that are super, super low...
They were used in Empire at War same place we get the Assault Frigate MK II and MC30. They were the Empire's counterpart to the Nuebulon B2 Frigate.

The MC30 was from 'Return of the Jedi' - it didn't get used in the film, but appeared in concept art for it...

And while I agree that the hideous-looking Assault Frigate Mk2 does appear to be unique to 'Empire at War'...that game came out before the 'canon' reboot thing happened, and can't really be looked at for much precedent. (Ditto the Victory-class, FWIW - if 'Armada' had started development under the current administration, I doubt either of those ships or the Gladiator-class would have seen release...)
Ooo, This makes me happy!
How did I miss that?!?!?! I'm the Brahatok spokesman!
Hey now-i'm an officially appointed member of the Braha'tok guild as well ![]()
So, what's that big rebel ship at 1:11?
Honesty, I love Sabin but that whole dark saber thing is really dumb. I do like the mother/parent aspect of the story, but the saber itself is still pretty bad. Maybe because it just feels like another laser sword?
Adult. Kids. Adult. Kids... Alright that argument is getting old and I know I am not the only one that has stated Star Wars is an all ages Mythology. It is meant to be enjoyed by adults and children alike and it has always been that way. We were lucky to get Rogue One with its more adult theme, under Disney, but otherwise it has always been a story for the 10 year old to forty something. (Which describes me and my son who both Love Star Wars.)
Also Star Wars' fastest growing fan base is young women so portraying female heroines is very smart for the writers to do to keep the Mythology going strong.
So can we drop the "I want an adult Game of Thornes in space" talk because you will never get it and thank the Force for that. The magic of Star Wars is that it can be enjoyed by everyone and you walk away with a good feeling instead of the dread you get from most dark adult films. Enjoy it for what it is, a Fun mythology for not only kids but an aging fan base like yourselves.
(Just turned 45 and I am totally getting the fact that those of us who were kids seeing Star Wars in the theaters as young children are aging fast.)
I would like to point out that the Assault Frigate (Mk I and Mk II) showed up in Star Wars: Rebellion long before Empire at War.

If only we could get a few female villains in these movies? I am thankful that a few show up in the show even if they are more of a minor character.
Is Thrawn doing combat training with Sentry Droids?

Assault Frigate Mk 1, yes, but that one dates all the way back to the West End Games RPGs in the '80s. Not the Mk2 - you may be thinking of the various Mon Cal ships they had, or maybe the Bulk Cruiser? The Mk2 really was created just for EAW...
God-tier level awesome!!!

That is fair, but I don't think it is too far of a stretch for far outer rim worlds to be patrolled with Clone Wars era ships, the same way they are using the Arquiten cruiser. I'd imagine they would be using them to further expand while they keep trying to produce as many ISDs and Ties they could to replace them when given the chance.
I'm one of those guys that like anything Star Wars related. So when I started watching SW Rebels from the beginning of the first season, I was hook. Seeing this mid-season trailer for Season 3, I'm totally excited!! All this stuff is getting me psyched and also making me play more Armada xD. Hail The Empire!!

While I'd love to see that...new 3d models are new 3d models, and they don't come cheap. Disney would need some kind of VERY compelling reason to knock out a new one, given everything they have already, and...I dunno. Not sure I see that on the horizon.
I wish, though, I do, but...
