Rebels Season 3 Mid Season Trailer

By Tirion, in Star Wars: Armada

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEE Oldbiwan Kenobi!!!

You gotta love the excitement of a new thing that generates three topics...

Well, Two Topics and an Update :D

I'm really loving the potential for the remainder of Season 3. Should be fun.

This looks... exceptionally legit. And Rogue One dark.

*Sigh* now I really need to start marathoning Clone Wars so I can figure out the whole Darksaber background...

TIE Defenders in active service, lots of good fleet-scale battles, promises to be a fun time.

Can`t wait, that trailer was awesome!!! :D

I just imagine like all Darksabers, the backstory is stupid as hell.

Season 4 and 5. The Maul stuff is really all you need to get that background. Although I recommend Clone Wars on a the whole. The show really just picked up steam as it went. And Ahsoka grows on you a lot.

I'm in the earlier part of Season 2, and definitely enjoy it, just having a hard time finding the time to truck it down.

So....1:05 and 1:12...the Braha'Tok gunship is in 'Rebels', now, too, eh? Obviously we saw that one in 'Rogue One' in the fleet - and it dates back to 'Return of the Jedi', where it appeared as part of the Rebel fleet in that movie, too.

Interestingly, it's very tiny - at 90m, it's only the size of a GR75.

In 'Legends' material written for it (which is only technically legends in this case - it had sort of recently been 'rediscovered') it was described as having no real carrier support capability and instead being a 'dedicated anti-fighter' gunship.

Seems like an obvious additional flotilla candidate for the Rebellion...

How did I miss that?!?!?! I'm the Brahatok spokesman!

Also there is an mc80

Yup, about as dark as any Disney cartoon for children. We know half those Rebel characters cannot die and the other half are the Ghost crew will not die, so how dark can it really be?

This isn't directed specifically at you, Biggs, but I'm so tired of seeing so many adults hyper-defending Rebels by saying that it's actually really mature and heavy and for adults.

Its irksome when grown people try to justify their love of something by acting like it's heavier, darker, or more profound than it actually is. Like, it's a kids' cartoon with flashy action and pleasing colors and cool-looking ships and explosions and it fills in more of the Star Wars lore and world. That's all very cool, and it's reason enough to enjoy it. Bet let's not try to pretend that it's Saving Private Ryan or Green Mile or Requiem for a Dream or something, because it's not and it will never be. It's a cartoon that cannot, due to audience, kill characters (Filoni mentioned as much re: Ahsoka's unshown showdown, and even mentioned that we very well may still see Ahsoka again in the future because she may have survived). Hell, the cartoons have only managed to unkill characters (oh hey Darth Maul).

I think it is safe to say that with the more recent appearences we will most likely see the Braha'Tok added to the game, now with the Rebels getting all these new ships I wonder if te Empire will see some new ship or if they will start to dip into legends or the prequels by releasing the Venator or the Acclamator.

Anyone know what the ship at the top is, thanks

Well the Imperial Carrier (which the Rebels stole) is still an obvious candidate for a new ship for the Empire. But, yeah, otherwise the Empire is stretching a bit. Compared to what we've seen for the Rebels:

- MC75 Profundity from Rogue One

- Hammerhead Corvettes from Rebels + Rogue One

- Dornean Gunships from Rebels + Rogue One + Return of the Jedi

...not sure. Certainly, we did see the Venator-class in Imperial colors (very end scene of Episode III), so that's not impossible, but...the Acclamator never was, and neither have been seen in any show since. I'd almost prefer a re-release of the Imperial Star Destroyer with new Commanders and crew, but...odds of that are super, super low...

That's the Braha'tok-class ship being discussed in the thread. The "Dornean gunship". Originally appeared in 'Return of the Jedi', and then everyone forgot about it for 30 years.

Are we talking Rogue One or Rebels? Because Rogue One was pretty dark. Rebels? Not at all.

Not everyone, thank you :)

I get your reasoning here. I too tired of it not being adult enough, but They have killed characters.. and on screen. remember the inquisitors? Maul and Asoka dropped them like a bad connection in season two.
