New Rebels trailer full of goodness

What's the weird-looking rebel fighter at 2:33?

(Also: apparently Interdictors have left the prototype stage.)

There's a scene were its Mandalorian Fang Fighters shooting up TIES around that point, is that what you're talking about?

So back to the original topic. . .

Note that the Dornean Gunship is specifically an anti-fighter ship. So maybe we'll see a small ship with a heavy AS battery. That could lead to a resurgence in squadron-light or no-squadron builds.

And Imps could get their Crusader Corvettes!
Or the Tartan Cruiser. That's also designated as anti-starfighter.

Over this gorgeous ship?

You must be insane sir!

Not so much "want" as "what they may implement."

There's one thing I feel is missing from rebels that clone wars had that gave it that edge. The enemy, in the case of the clone wars the Separatists, actually won battles and caused massive casualties. In addition the heroes faced legitimate threats and named characters died. Right now outside of Vader, Tarkin and recently Thrawn, the rebels have no threats. Vader left, Tarkin has other things to deal with that leaves Thrawn. Even Vader and Tarkin didn't really do lasting or grave damage to them, and that makes the empire seem weak and not a real threat needing resistance.

The empire is portrayed more like bumbling idiots to often to really be seen as a threat. This is where I'm hoping Thrawn really changes things, make the empire something to be feared like the Separatists in the Clone Wars.

I do agree with this point. The issue is critical enough that they get Darth Vader and Tarkin involved, but not so critical that they stay involved until the Rebels are defeated? It was kind of weird. Especially considering that Vader's job is to purge all of the Jedi, and Freddy Prinze doesn't look too purged to me. Still, absolutely love the show.

Star Wars Rebellion > Empire at Arcade

Lancer > Tartan

Oh god, Rebellion. So many hours. So, so many.

And agreed - way better than Empire. Especially considering those obnoxious land battles. If you took everything about Rebellion and just replaced the space battles with the ones from Empire at War. . .

Try the Empire at War Thrawn's Revenge Mod

-...and auto resolve all the land battles...

In the meantime, speaking of Rebels That trailer was awesome and my Pelta and 2 light cruisers just hit Chinese customs, I should have them by 'Happy Friday' tomorrow.

I love that "Happy Friday thread time" is an accepted measurement of time now-a-days.

I do enjoy how there's seemingly no regards given to the difference between there not being an answer, and simply not knowing the answer as of yet :D

I for one, am content to wait and see.

There is also "Cannot imagine an answer." For myself, I cannot imagine a good answer for "Why didn't Asoka team up with Luke?" aside from her being dead. I might be willing to accept, "she wandered away," but it will be a hard sell.

For the T/D; I cannot imagine a good reason not to base at least a few on the Death Star. maybe not a lot of them; but a squadron or so would seem to be an auto-include. DS2 even more so. More for the Rebellion than the Empire, this was a do-or-die moment. Anything the Rebels didn't bring along, you can safely assume they didn't have. The Empire was set up to defeat that. Sure, they had other stuff, but what could be more important than crushing the rebellion in one swift stroke?

Yes - thanks. I had never seen those before.

I stopped watching Rebels shortly after they blew up the 'dictor prototype. Have any more shown up since then?

Any more interdictors? There's one just above that star destroyer.

Yeah, that's why I'm asking. And it's not the only one in the trailer. Hence my question of whether the 'dictor becoming a "production ship" is news or was already known.

I would imagine it has at this point.

Well that's helpful. :P

Up until this trailer all we had seen was a one-off experimental ship, that was promptly blown up during its very first military operation due to its systems being, frankly, sub-standard. Since no 'dictors show up in any of the later canon (I was actually half-expecting to see one in Rogue One), it was very far from a given that further ships of this class would be built.

As far as I can tell, the trailer is the first canonical evidence that the project survived the initial fiasco. Except the Tarkin book, I suppose.

I think there weren't any TIE/D on the Death Star because Moff Tarkin was a big ship player, he only brought some TIE/Ln and one Tie/Adv to engage the Rebel bombers until his capital ships could complete the objective.

Wouldn't say the ship its self was substandard or defective. The captain on the other hand certainly was. As far as numbers, they were suppose to be pretty rare in the original cannon. Wouldn't surprise me if that wasn't still the case.

Also, what is this ship in the top-left corner?

edit: Thanks for the tip Drasnighta!

Can someone get the scene of the Rebel fleet in profile at 1:05?

My phone is not up to the task.

At this point I wonder what the Nebulon is called.

You are correct

Until this trailer, we've only seen more ISD-1s (including the Chimera), and some Arquitens.

You are correct

I love it when you say that.

Next time, though, don't forget to add "my lord".

Pretty sure I win this one.
