When Jamming Barrier was first revealed, my initial thought was, "that'll never see play." But then Strategic dropped and I thought, "MSUs will love this." Here's why
For 30 points, you get 2 strategic squadrons (or really tiny ships/shuttles?). You get to deploy the Barrier after fleets are deployed (and in CC, this will happen after the first player spynet tokens), so you can shield your ships from any big front arcs to begin with, and they are shielded from you.
This is where it gets good: your opponent activates first and shoots at 50% firepower (barring all add effects, like Ackbar and CF), then moves forward, closer to the Barrier, but still keeping it between ships. You activate a shuttle with a squad command on a flotilla and move one of the tokens so that it no longer obstructs your shots. You activate and shoot at 100%. Then, whether by squad command or in the squad phase (Or from the same ship after moving if you're using flight commander), the second VCX moves the Barrier back into place.
You could also do ridiculous things like stretching the Barrier across the entire mat. The possibilities are limited...
It'd be a headache to master at first, but what do y'all think?
