Broken Gamorean Weapon in JR

By Slugrage, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

Who else had broken Gamorean axe-heads in their Jabba's Realm box? I had one of my four broken clean off already when I opened and unpacked all the goodies inside. I'm hoping FFG will replace it based on other's past comments.

http://parts.asmodeena.com/ (formerly known as parts.fantasyflightgames.com ).

I have had some X-Wing parts replaced, but for Probe Droids I just used glue and didn't bother asking for replacements. I was going to paint them in any case.

Cool! Thanks!

One of mine was broken. I plan to fix myself with superglue.

Same here. Except it was on a Weequay. Gotta love that superglue.

I'm personally not a fan of the "cram every figure into one bag" method of packaging.

I had a broken mini in another FFG game (Mansions of Madness). I just sent a request and a photo to the link that A1bert provided and about a week later they shipped me a replacement mini at no cost.

I have had similar experiences with Descent.

I had a shield that came broken on Avric in Descent and a tail on the Barghast.. I just super glued it and no one has ever been able to tell, I can't even tell which Barghast had the broken tail.

Weapon fix should be easy, and then a little green stuff to smooth it out if you are painting.

But I would still ask FFG for another one, never hurts to have extras :D

One of mine broke... but my six year old was responsible, not FFG. :P Superglue is an amazing thing.

I too had one Gamorrean unpack with a broken axe.

They package the villain and ally packs so nicely, I wonder how much it would cut into costs to give similar trays for the box expansions.

Or at least package them in a way that doesn't look like it was designed as a stress test.

Almost all the Jets were broken off or missing on my jet pack stormtroopers, seems like with more detail and smaller parts minis get more fragile.

I had several broken pieces. All four Gamorreans had broken axes, Shyla was missing an arm from the elbow down, one Weequay had arm & shoulder off plus staff broke off, then one jet trooper had arm off and another jet trooper was missing leg from knee down..

FFG please keep this in mind for future box sets.

It's because they use really crappy resin. It's fine for thick parts with low detail, but when you try making things more delicate, it's a crappy material.

They need something a bit stiffer and firmer.

My stuff wasn't broken but lots of bent bits. I already replace all my lightsabers and similar staffs etc... with metal rods. I can't stand pool noodle lightsabers.

The Gamorran axes are all pretty bent, as is the Dewback shock lance and even Terro's gun somehow.

Yeah, usually I haven't had issues with IA components (one Nexu shipped with a broken tail in my base game, but that's it).

This time, though, it was a little rough. One of my Gamorreans's axe tips was broken off, with another hanging off by just a thread. A weequay's weapon tip had also broken off. Perhaps most disappointing of all, Shyla had been completely broken off her base at the ankles.

I really hope FFG addresses this issue in future releases. It's no fun getting your expansion, then having four of them be broken. Out of just the boxed content, that's 25% of the minis that arrived broken.

My box had two broken gamorrean spears and Shylas sword had broken off. Submitted a request to asmodee last night, we'll see what happens.

It will also be interesting to see in what kind of shape the figures end up with the customers outside of US. (Like myself. Maybe next week or the week after that.)

I wonder if the cold weather has to do with how uncharacteristically terrible the condition of these figures is. The cold would make them more brittle and more prone to breaking off.

It's more likely because they shoved them in the same bag with the multiple giant and heavy Rancor pieces.

I also had to glue of them.

I also received my JR expansion with issues, albeit not as bad as some above. One of my gamorreans had his axe tip just hanging on by a thread, I used some super glue and it's as good as new.

All 4 of my weequay had their weapon tips bent in some way. I haven't done anything to fix them yet, I think if I do the hot water trick they will turn out ok.

Also, my Rancor base wouldn't connect without bending it a little. After leaving it out with the feet connected for a while it all appears to look ok now. And the point where the feet and the torso come together is a little loose, I stuffed some tissue in there and it holds better now.

Yeah, the rancor base was a snug fit for me too, but it looks fine now. Makes sense, though, that the big heavy rancor pieces could've broken the others.

I too have a broken Gamorean spear. Although, I dont plan to repair it as it might be cool in campaign. Should he underperform on his attacks I shall trade a good figure for the broken one, to better reflect his inability to do damage.

Also, my rancor seems to be a little too large. The arms dont slot into the torso and the base is too narrow to fit the legs. Or the legs are too wide. Ive got some shaving to do!

The regular Gamorrean Guards already have an innate - 1dmg - must be because their spears are broken.

Same here. One of the guards had the axe tip broken off as well. And the Rancor legs/base situation is a total disaster. FFG miniature quality has definitely been going downhill over the course of the past year or so.

I'll blame it on the acquisition by Asmodee Group. I have nothing to back that up. But the timing is in sync. And we've seen them force price increases to online retailers because they think they can beat capitalism. Cheaper plastic/manufacturing as well? Who knows.
