And they quit when they realize they can't use it much. At least until the meta change after fighter heavy build knock out the MSUs then naked large ships will return until the fighter heavy builds die off and MSUs comeback. Wait sounds like Rock Paper Scissors.
Let me be clear: I've never run Imperials without an ISD. My current test list for Regionals is an ISD, 3x Arquitens, a Raider, and two TIE Fighters. No flotillas, minimal squadrons. It's doing well so far and the ISD is a huge part of that.
I rarely play Rebels without an MC80 of some kind. Large ships have never stopped being viable. You have to tweak lists as the meta changes, but the rock paper scissors has never been there for me. Ask around. I'm the guy that has steadfastly loved B-Wings since the beginning. I have come back to my B-Wing list with only slight changes in each and every wave. I won a wave 2 Regionals when squadrons were "lolbad" according to players much like yourself. I used Independence (another lolbad title according to many), Yavaris, a CR90, and a host of angry Bees. Wave 3/4 involved removing the CR90 for a couple flotillas. With Wave 5, I'm leaning toward replacing the MC80 Command Cruiser with Liberty, title and all, because of what Ahsoka Tano lets me do with Garm.
Whats the timeframe on that never Truth, cuz I seem to remember this double vic bomber list... ;P

I'll back that up and say that I hate seeing ISDs on the other side of the table. Not that I'm an exceptional player or anything, but man do I hate having to take those things down. I usually will lose almost as many points in ships, and be on the verge of having lost the game thanks to some lucky shots. And if you bring 2 of them with Motti... I can't even. The ISD is just fine as long as you know how to use it.
Also, as to the earlier comment about the guy from Killeen, I am "a" guy from Killeen, don't know if I'm the one you were referring to. I think Ard is further south. And if you're talking about the same Ben I've met, he definitely hasn't pulled any of the hijinx you've mentioned. He uses preconstructed lists from Warlords, and he'll choose between a Rebel or Imperial list based on his opponent's faction for casual games. He also gave me a good AAR the one time he nearly stomped me, so he's friendly and wants you to do well.
The game is basically dead in both locales. In KY (I still have friends back there) there are no tourneys, and hardly anyone ever plays anymore.
Anecdote vs. anecdote - I'm playing in three Armada tournaments in the next couple of months, and there are two full Corellian Conflict campaigns starting up here this weekend. (Louisville, for the record.)
Then the game has grown since I left in March; excellent news! Do I know you? Back there everyone knew me as Wolf, played mostly at Pet Shop.

Can confirm. Force ghost Ben just told me he did it on purpose to kill Armada.
I've almost solved the Cluedo!
It was Ben, with a crutch is his left hand, and either a rock, paper, or scissors in his right.
The only thig I don't have is the location, all I know it isn't BladeWing's FLGS.

Ben, with the crutch, in the Corellian Sector

I don't think so. I only started playing Armada in November. PSC's the host for our Corellian Conflict games!

Once again the word moist proves to be the most hilarious in all the English language.
Imo this game is 10-15% luck, 35-40% build, and the rest is skill. Schmitty's data backs this up.
As far as the chess comparison not sure what the op is skiing for there. Does he want a gr75 to have the same chance when in position of taking out an ISD as the ISD does of taking it out? Cause I sure don't...
Happily
Whats the timeframe on that never Truth, cuz I seem to remember this double vic bomber list... ;P
Oh **** me. Totally forgot about that one. It was a Vassal tourney and for some reason I was only thinking of in person games. Considering it was a half baked list that I came up with because everyone said the Victory was terribad, I think my point still somewhat stands. Big ships, and "terribad" ships in general are better and more viable than doom and gloomers claim.

Thank god BCC's didn't exist yet.
Edited by MadaghmireOk now things are interesting. I have not read any post since my last post on this thread. So I am popping some popcorn .
Not Rock Paper Scissors why did I catch Ben changing his build to take advantage of my builds weakness. Btw real a rock to scissors move. But Ben just told not one week earlier that build with large ships and no fighters was dead. Which btw way I was building to take on he previous builds fighter heavy nature. When I saw his build was a perfect answer to my build and had no fighters I knew how he winning every time he built cheesy builds to play against the major archetypes and switched up at the last second to get the easy win. When I switched up he would switch up. That time I lost three games with the same build each time to test my theory, and each time he ask me if was going to change. I didn't to see if he would change as knew he hated that build he was playing. He didn't change a thing. A friend also noticed this and agreed that was what he was doing as he usually only changes up when I change my list and each time it amazingly played against my weekends. That needs to be fixed. If you win the game based mainly on set up then it leads to people quitting early and not investing in the game. Which is what I am seeing and hearing from people in the LGS.
Erm, if you're not both making your lists individually and in secret, you're doing it all wrong.
Assuming I understood the gist of what you're saying in that word salad.
