Crusade of the Forgotten Special Rules

By NewKevlar, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

The specific part of the rules in question states:

"While a hero or monster is carrying an apostate, it cannot perform a move action if it already performed a move action that turn."

I will be playing the overlord for this quest in a couple weeks. The monster traits are Mountain and Hot, and I am currently debating between Ynfernael Hulks and Volucrix Reavers. I am wondering if YH's Bloodrush (This monster suffers 1 heart and gains 5 movement points. Limit once per turn), or VR's Skirmish (This monster may move 3 spaces, then perform an attack) can be combined with a move action within the scope of the Special Rules.

To assist is answering my question, I would like the following answered as well:

1) Are any actions that say "attack" considered attack actions, of which monsters may generally not perform two in a turn? i.e. Elemental regular attack, and Fire

2) Can the same be said for a move action like Bloodrush, where a monster gaining movement points via an action outside of a regular move action would still be considered a move action?

3) Would a skill like a Knight's Oath of Honor be considered a Move Action, an Attack Action, both or neither?

Thank you in advance!

1) An elemental cannot perform "Fire" and an ordinary attack in the same turn, because during the performing of "Fire", an attack is made.

2) Nope. Just like a hero suffering fatigue to gain MP is not a move action, Bloodrush is not a move action. However, it can definitely be said that in both cases, the hero and the hulk are "moving" (they're just doing so my means other than a move action).

3) Neither, though Oath of Honor (like Fire) contains an attack. For Oath, the knight is being placed, which is actually a separate mode of transport than movement alltogether. As a secondary example, Advance is also not a move action (though it is movement) and it contains an attack.

Based on the line of special rules you quoted, Bloodrush would seem not to be prohibited.
