I finally saw Rogue One yesterday and there are TWO versions of the ship in the movie! One has, in my words, a "rounded pod" and the other has a "wedge-shaped hull." Will we see the second version for XWing?! My son thought it was a transport version...
Two versions of Tie Strikers for XWing?!
I think it could make it's way into FFG's game, but I really think it's a better fit for Armada than X-Wing.
The wedge hull was a transport for the Deathtroopers. It's bigger than the TIE striker.
Picture of this ship was posted elsewhere in the forums - looks like they squeezed the Upsilon noze and underbelly ramp between a TIE Striker. I hope someone makes a version of it to recognise it ![]()

I don't think yet another imperial shuttle is high on the priority list.

As cool as that transport ship is, I pray we don't get more Imperial shuttle variants for a long while. The only downside is that seems to be the only canon type of large-base ship out there for Imperials.
TIE Striker-ish transport shown above.
Stealth Shuttle
Cargo Shuttle
Troop transport shuttle from Rebels
Idk, lets ask the Vaskai that appears on the lightning reflexes art in the khirax pack...

Thanks for posting the pic, I was searching for one unsuccessfully!
As cool as it would be it would be the bomber refit.
I'm more interested in another title that would represent bombing and crew (the one that there is already 12 threads about)... Oh wait... That's just another bomber.
I'm not sure the pure troop transports fit as well into the game without some weird new mechanics or stuff (Like a Boarding Team on a TIE/br Shuttle variant who get out and punch the enemy pilot in the face when you bump, or Spacetroopers hugging the outside of your Lambda to shoot mini proton torps at people who get too close), but there are a few, like the First Order Lander, the Imperial Dropship Transport, this Death Trooper transport which is a relative of the striker, etc. It's a shame, I'd love the minis for some of those designs.
I guess this is the 145th time we had this topic
(And ok I had to confess I still find it interesting
)
I don't think we will see a title of the striker. Unless it doesn't appear again in a movie (Han story), Strikers and U-wings are done in my opinion
Depends on if they see their fair share. If not, it'll probably go into FFGs back pocket, until they decide it's time for an aces box, or they need something to pair with a new imperial epic, or they actually do a campaign expansion (which one based on R1 could involve) and then maybe TIE/SK x1 will show up. That said, despite the similar design, probably out of the same project, the Striker and the Death Trooper Transport are clearly different models.
I hope they don't stay done with Us, but that's because I love it.
TIE Strike Bomber

I don't know. I think it is a pretty sweet looking ship, and from the movie it seems like it is meant more as a combat dropship, not a shuttle, which means a reasonable case could be made for it to not SUCK in combat like a shuttle. they could give it a decent dial and stats so that it is possible to run naked, but has a shuttle's upgrade potential.
Might be stepping on the Decimator's turf a bit, but it looks so cool I really want it.
I'm fairly sure you also see this thing flying above Cassian's head while he's on the asteroid trading base. It's relatively early in the sequence, while he's still on his way to meet his contact.
HEL-NAH... It was in the film for ten seconds.

FINISH TFA FFG!

Yeah, this is the main problem, IMHO. Rebels and Scum get the of fun transports, but for the Imperials, since everything is military, they don't really have that option. The Imps getting access to the Firespray is probably only a mistake of not realizing the game would have 3 factions eventually. In truth, I would prefer a couple of the shuttles to yet another Ball+Panels TIE variant. I would also like to see more named/hero crew options for the Imperials, which can only be released if the model is a transport of some sort.
What I would really like to see is The Imperial version of a Ghost release: a Sentinal-class shuttle featuring the main Imperial characters of the series.

Nah, GL doesn't do that anymore. Hit up Pablo Hidalgo on Twitter, he wrote the Visual Guide so if anybody knows it's him.
Sentinel could actually make a decent "fighting Shuttle" that isn't like the Upsilon, give it cannon, missiles and an aux rear arc (and thus, another ship which can use Tailgunner) double crew, give it an extra hull or two... Could slot in all kinds of Rebels characters. Minister Tua (who is in Armada), Thrawn, Governor Pryce, several of those incompetent naval pukes, maybe give the Inquisitor a crew card... Might need to wait a wave, back to back shuttles is probably not ideal marketing, no matter what kind of tie in you get.
, no matter what kind of tie in you get.
That's what I'm sayin', no more TIEs in Waves. ![]()
I mean, once you get the Gunboat, and maybe Skipray (though that is as iconically Scum in Legends), you're just out of non-TIE imperial small ships. It's nothing but TIEs and Shuttles all the way down. And maybe the I-7 but that really doesn't do anything new and will just confuse people.
Is it wearing a jacket?
Probably piloted by "Wedge" before he saw the horrors of the deathstar and empire at the battle of Scarif.
I think the ship is intriguing, as beautiful as the U Wing and Tie Striker, no, but certainly uncanny looking.
(Yes I know Wedge defects in StarWars Rebels, but I can have Pun with it!!)
