Disengage vs evade

By Chaos101, in Arkham Horror: The Card Game

Hi Guys,

I hope you can help....

I'm playing the second scenario of Night of the Zealot and I have encountered the cultist Ruth Turner in St. Mary's Hospital. Her text has: "Forced - After Ruth Turner is evaded: Add her to the victory display." I was going to evade her but I have my upgrade card of 'Cat Burgler' currently in play which has the text: "==> Exhaust Cat Burgler: Disengage from each enemy engaged with you and move to a connecting location. This action does not provoke attacks of opportunity." So my question is: do I get to add Ruth Turner to my victory display - yes / no? And if this was a normal enemy (like swarm of rats from the first scenario), would they exhaust when I move to another location?

Thanks in advance for your help.

"Evading", "Disengaging" and the enemy being exausted are all separate. While a sucessfull Evade Test makes you "disengage" from an enemy and put it in an exausted state, an effect that makes you disengage do not exaust the enemy (unless specifically noted), nor it counts as an evade attempt (again, unless specifically noted).

Thanks Arkano. I assumed as much. As I have learnt from playing LOTR LCG - if there are two options that might be correct - the worst outcome is usually the one that is right. As per here.

Thanks again.
