The GHOST Lives

By Imperial Advisor Arem Heshvaun, in X-Wing

Okay, I'm being blind. I couldn't see the Ghost in that

Man where you can spot Ghost in that sheetty cam copy? :P

There is a ship at the bottom of the frame, slightly left of centre which might be a partial shot of the Ghost. It is the last ship to make the jump to lightspeed before the Devastator shows up and ruins the Rebels' mood (which would be kinda fitting for a ship with a history of narrow escapes). Having said that, the shot is not very clear and the ship only partially seen. I am not certain it is a VCX-100.

I think it's actually an XG1 Assault Gunboat. Confirmed by Reginald Barclay.

Nope definitely an Ewok Hang Glider

on my first watch I thought it was but multiple watches shows that it's a Hammerhead.

Fair enough. In that case the OP still needs to make the case for the Ghost. Imperial Advisor Arem Heshvaun, if the Ghost really is there, could you post a screen-grab highlighting it?

I must confess that I cannot see it in that clip.

The tail of the Ghost (or a VCX 100), identifiable by its distinctive shape and its unique engine array, is clearly visible at the bottom left, under the CR90.

General Syndulla is clearly called on the intercom in the Yavin Four base at one point. Also, Chopper makes a short appearance, visible at the bottom left of this image from Starwars.com:

Yes, very good, but does it escape the battle or is it blown into star rubble along with a large percentage of the fleet it's flying with?

Not sure about this scene but I DID notice clearly the Ghost in at least 2 - 3 more shots in the final battle when watching the movie a second time this weekend. They're quick but it's clearly recognizable in several different shots.

I actually kind of like the idea that Disney killed Rogue One's crew and quietly killed the Rebels crew. Just to be sure there are no continuity issues with the OT.

Oh, and if they also could destroy Esra's stupid slingshot that would be great too (Love you Rebels but c'mon, a sling shot?)

I also watched a 2nd time this weekend. Ghost is all over the place. Loved seeing it!

However the Brahtok gunship was my personal highlight. It got very few clear shots, but it is most certainly there. I can't wait to see more of it. Looks heavily armed.

not terribly on topic, but I do appreciate the irony of the title

We know that the Ghost and at least of the crew made it to Scarif. What we don't know is whether they survived the battle. As far as we can tell, they are not one of the ships seen jumping to Lightspeed in the clip above. However nor is the Ghost seen to be destroyed during the battle.

I think we cannot say that the Ghost survives to the end of Rogue One yet. All we can say is it is not definitely dead.

Seems to be a case of Schroedinger's VCX-100. ;)

The director states that she lives on so we can say she survive. :)

No, he only states that she is still alive during Rogue One. He doesn't confirm that she survives to the end of it. Unless someone can make out the Ghost jumping away, it's status is unconfirmed as of the end of the battle.

“I can clarify that’s absolutely Hera being paged, not her dad,” Filoni told EW. “The movie gives that away, but I would rather have all the [references] be right. Hera will eventually become a general in the Rebel Alliance.”

Er... She's a general in the movie, as confirmed by Filoni. Not after. I don't care either way, but please get your timeline right.

Everything you have quoted happens before or during the battle of Scarif. There is nothing to indicate that she survives to the end of it. Granted there is nothing to indicate that she does not either. Filoni confirms that Hera is alive and well at Yavin before the battle and has reached the rank of General. The Ghost then goes to Scarif. After that, nothing else is certain.

The Ghost isn't visible in that clip, it is seen making the jump into Scarrif and on Yavin IV. But I can't see it anywhere on the jump out sequence.

Scarrif is very clearly going to be the series finale of Rebels.

As such I seriously doubt that they showed whether the Ghost escapes the battle or not. They will leave that for Filoni and crew to decide.

The Ghost may very well survive but then again Filoni has also said Rebels is going to match the tone of Rogue One the closer in the timeline the show gets to it. The theme of Rogue One for the rebel side is sacrificing ones self for a greater cause or at least getting killed for the cause.

Personally I expect the Ghost not to make it. How noble would that be if for instance the Ghost Crew, or at least whoever's on board, tried to delay Vader and the Devastator from capturing the Tantive IV further by staying and fighting. Or they attempt to save Raddus but get caught anyways.

Not that Rebels is afraid of killing crews, but I more expect for the crew to retire after freeing their home world and becoming diplomats or something.
