Jabba's Realm and Storage

By ryanjamal, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

I haven't gotten Jabba's Realm yet (on order!), but I think it's time to reconsider my storage for this game. Currently, I have separated all my campaign materials into a separate box, and I have all of the skirmish materials in two boxes, the core and the Hoth box. My map tiles are separated into two different binders, which works fine, but with the new content I won't be able to keep my skirmish materials down to two boxes, and I don't want to have to cart around three, and I like having everything on hand so I don't want to just bring the minimal amount in a small Plano. On top of that I might start painting my figures so I need better storage than just putting each group in its own baggie.

So what are you guys doing for your storage? I know a lot of people were using the Plano 732, but does that still hold everything? Or is there something else you all use? I would prefer it to be easily portable and not exorbitant like broken token.

Sorry if this is retreading old ground. I was just wondering if some of the older answers have changed since more content has been released.

Thanks in advance!

I used to use the following for cards and minis: http://www.planomolding.com/fishing/guide-series-systems/787010-guide-series-angled-tackle-system . The two sides containers were ok for tokens, but they were a little too deep and there weren't enough of them so I had to put similar tokens together. Not a deal breaker, but it could be a hassle. The three center containers are perfect for minis and cards.

For tiles and literature I used a couple old binders and http://www.c-lineproducts.com/qz6041-binder-pocket-assorted-58730-cli58730-cli-58730.html .

After Jabba's Realm, I purchased: http://www.planomolding.com/hardware/storage-systems/double-cover-lockjaw-organizer . This has revolutionized how I store tokens. The top stores all the tokens easily. There's plenty of space underneath for heroes and their class cards, plus those super sized minis (that unfortunately need to be disassembled for storage). This has saved me so much space in the above mentioned tackle system. Instead of multiple groups being shoved into the same compartment, each group of stormies gets their own breathing room!

Unfortunately, carrying everything can be a bit unwieldy, but frankly it works perfect for me

I bought this awhile back for $39.99 plus the trays: https://www.miniaturemarket.com/gps1001.html

It's a tall bag for foam trays for my minis. I put a binder in one of the pockets for command cards. The foam trays are pluck foam and not too expensive. MM just got down with a sale on all the game plus stuff though, and it would have knocked off some money. They put the game plus stuff on extra sale a couple times a year it seems. You could also get a funky'er color if they come back in stock for $15 less.

I really like it. I'm starting to outgrow it, but that's because I have 2 of everything for my group, so I'll just have trays at home of lesser used stuff. And I put all my tiles in old IA boxes separated into baggies.

Thanks for the links! I'm still debating between the foam trays and the planos. Hmmm.... Anyone else care to weigh in?

I have the one Masterchiefspiff is talking about with foam trays. I actually buy different foam trays than the gameplus ones though. There's an outfit on amazon called PrimeTimeFoam from AZ i think, that makes precut trays that most of your figures will fit into, the oddballs are the wookies, Atst, dewbacks and Rancors which you'll need something bigger for. All my tokens are in little baggies that I won at a tournament and the cards are in a binder with sleeves.

I use the plano trays

3700 DEEP: I store every single little card that has come out from core to Jabba's Realm with every AVP in between in here. They stand up perfectly in the slots and you can customize how much room you want. I keep all the command cards in one, all the class cards in another etc.. I also keep a slot for active campaigns that holds all of the rewards/class/item etc.. cards used in that campaign for ease of access during set up time. The cards take up about 35% of the tray, the rest I use to store the assembled doors, the AVP maps (folded as they come), the larger cards from my active campaign (missions, agenda cards, etc..) and some extra/taller figures. Like the wookies or Wampas, lots of room. I am amazed how much storage I get out of this thing.

3700 regular: This holds the majority of my figures, they don't all get their own compartment but I have yet to notice any problems with my painted figures being stored in here with multiples. Use a good Testors dull coat on them like Sorastro recommends and should have zero problems. I do keep them separated by group though, Stormies in one slot, RG's in another etc.. the larger slots in the front are perfect for Nexu's and the tank. After Jabba's Realm though I think I will buy another one of these as things are getting a little crowded for figures and tokens in the ...

3600 regular: This holds all of my tokens on the left and the character cards/threat dial on the right. As I said above though with the addtion of Jabba's Realm I would say that the tokens have put this at capacity and it might be time to upgrade to a 3700 and split it with the additional figures and move this 3600 over to Descent.

For the larger figures like the AT-ST and Bantha, and now Rancor, I use old deck screw cases from Home Depot. They are **** near perfect size ( a bit big for the bantha) but I just line them with foam or an old sock so nothing rolls around in transport.

For my tiles I use CD binders, they hold about 85% of the tiles pefectly, the bigger ones I just put in the back (zippers closed).

I also have a plastic binder for all the extra papers and campaign/rule guides, hard cover to prevent bending. And for the rest of my regular sized cards I have a 92-93 O-Pee-Chee NHL card box that holds everything to date with room for at least another 5-6 big box expansions, I made my own paper tabs that separate the categories for ease of use.

All of this fits inside my medium sized tote with my business card holder from Staples that I use to organize the small cards on the table.

I plan to re-build the custom insert that I made. Waiting on JR to figure out how I want to rebuild :)

I recently got the Core Box Organizer from Gothsonika. It is really great and holds a ton of stuff beyond just the core set. I will most likely pick up the Hoth Box and possibly the Jabba box when he comes out with it. I highly recommend!

I have all the available Gothsonika inserts and they're really fantastic. Their campaign storage is great, though I'll look for a Feldherr solution for tourneys since I don't need everything to come with me.

Only downside is that with all the inserts, it's a small workout to get everything from place to place. But it's a small price to pay for otherwise great storage. Really looking forward to the Jabba insert from them.
