Huge Ships secondary weapons

Hi guys,

just a quick question: if I add Strongpoints to Huge Ships, like the Turbolasers or Ion Battery and whatnot, they have ranges 4 and 5 in them. Are they considered secondary weapons, so the target doesn't get the bonus green dice? Because at range 5, you usually get three green dice bonus, right?

Yes, they're secondary weapons. Ships only get one primary weapon.

You only get one additional evade dice at range 3 AND BEYOND. So nothing more for range 4 and 5. and, yeah, that only applies to primary.

In the original rules, it was one extra green per range category beyond 2, however it was erratta'ed to just 1 in total. And then only vs primary weapons. So that Single Turbolaser vs a VCX or Decimator will work fine.

Do note that a number of those long range secondary weapons have their own penalties associated with them.

The rule on bonus defence dice for the primary weapons changed from the original. Without a LOT higher number of attack dice it really didn't do a lot of good to have the longer range when opponents were just that much more likely to evade the attack all together until they could get in close.
