Dengar moves, snap shot triggers, the attacker is in Dengars firing arc:
Can Dengar after defending get his action then attack?

No. He gets his return attack first if he wishes, then proceeds to his Perform Action step. If you progress to the Perform Action step first, then it's too late to go back to the attack. His trigger is "after defending...", not "after defending and doing some other stuff first..."
Not saying this is what the OP was trying, but I have seen people try to argue (with a little hyperbole) that they defended last turn, so now that they have you at range 1 with a TL and Focus, they'd like to trigger his "after defending" shot. OK, well, in that case, I defended with Dengar last week in a different game with a different opponent, so I get to shoot you, too! Some people...
I would laugh in those people's faces. Jeez...
Thanks for the help people

That's some serious rules lawyer twisting there. By that logic you could go a green maneuver on turn 1 when not stressed and then like 3 turns later trigger the green stress removal to ditch a stress.

That's the level of ridiculousness ObiWonka was trying to illustrate there.
"After defending" and "after attacking" now have very defined windows and can't be delayed indefinitely to a point where you might find it more useful. If you don't use an ability in it's defined window, then you lose the chance altogether.
