I have been a long time L5R fan, card player, and occasional dabbler into the L5R verse as a GM for the RPG. I would love to be able to discuss a project I am looking to run on Discord and Roll 20 trying to create a mix of classic style adventures and a pseudo-LARP feel. I will be creating a new post for this another day, I know that I am wanting to set it in the year 1,000, and set it in an original city/province (Once i'd have enough GMs to help myself expand beyond the city). I would love to set it on an original island in the Isle of Silk and Spice, but am having a hard time figuring out how to draw in all 7 of the era's Great Clans, much less Imperial Family Samurai, to a (then) Minor Clan holding. Perhaps instead, I might try creating a coastal Crane city. Either way, while I am in the design/development phase I would love to have a group of people I can discuss this with.

If you plan a more PbP type thing then I'd gladly sign up.

I was part of a large l5r larp in the U.K. which suffered from GM micro management. It allowed very little player discretion.

That tends to be the problem with L5r unfortunately, the GMs tended to force players to act a very certain way more so than the game expects.

The idea behind this is more to explore more of a day to day lives of Samurai in the city, with GMs/Assistant GMs primarily officiating fights and skill uses (including PvP skill usages), though the GMs will also be running adventures. Some, like my Governor's Court and the Emerald Magistrates/Yoriki campaigns, will be ran with a set cast of players. Others will hopefully be more of a revolving cast. Hopefully I can gather some GMs together who'd be willing to run adventures with a revolving cast It shall be ran primarily using Discord, along with Roll 20 for dice necessities and GMed adventures. It is going to be something similar to a pbp game, but is going to be a little different. For example: Each Day of Rokugani time shall be a week in real life, with the IRL days serving as parts of the day. Sunday shall be a makeup day for portions of each IC days missed, Mondays shall be Early Morning time, Tuesday shall be late morning, Wednesday shall be Early Afternoon, Thursday shall be Late Afternoon, Friday shall be Early Evening, and Saturday shall be Late Evening. Each IC day shall be chronicled onto Obsidian Portal by an Assistant GM.

Also, since I bought a bunch of needed map sets, and I dislike the idea of either RPing a Scorpion or a Hantei Emperor (Discarding the idea of moving the campaign to Otosan Uchi) I'm changing the setting to an original Crab Province within the Twilight Mountains mostly responsible for Mining, though some food stuffs are grown in areas (Mostly Tea and vegetables).

Nope. Other than preferring to play as a Crab Bushi for this. Less effort on dealing with the minor stuff so I can focus on building this up from an experiment into a wonderful communal experience. An annoying Crane that's normally too low in status to bother with challenges me to a duel? Bash his head with my Tetsubo like Hida Yakamo. Find out IC that my character's favorite Geisha is a Scorpion Clan spy? Second verse same as the first. Once we have become a large and vibrant community, we can discuss moving on to Phase 2: expansion and evolution. Once we'd have enough players and staff (And I can purchase the rest of the needed Map Packs to be able to run a full Empire), i'd love to run a Birth of the Empire Adventure where the top 8 staff members would be the Kami. After the Duel and we'd work on shaping a new Rokugan and Canon like with the Empire of Togashi.

Having recently got the Atlas of Rokugan and Digital Map Pack myself - they are pretty good, but everything on them is...small. Like, it takes one day on foot to go from Kyuden Bayushi to Shiro no Shosuro. Map (castles) locations are also very small; you might need to re-scale things for your use.
