If I have got a ship equiped with
- Experimental Interface
- Jyn Erso Crew
Is it possible to do a focus action first and do the "Jyn Erso" action via Experimental Interface even though there are no ships in my arcs? Of course this would result in getting 0 focus token. But is it still possible to do this in order to receive stress on purpose?

Yes, you can EI to activate Jyn Erso, select yourself as the recipient, count zero enemy ships in arc at Range 1-3, and assign yourself zero Focus tokens before taking a stress from EI.
Huh. That's an interesting edge case for a combo, and it totally works by the rules.

Almost no one.
However, there are a few combinations that could benefit from it. Any ship with another crew slot could equip Kyle and gain a focus for removing the stress later. Ezra crew with a turret (or a ship moving into arc later) could change a focus to crit. Or Ezra pilot, for defense.
