MC-75 What will it be?

By Emperor Dane, in Star Wars: Armada

To be honest if you plop down a good carrier for the rebel faction, it's popularity might be so so when the game is more or less geared towards "who has more activiations."

Keep running into a frigate, nebulon and 3 gr75's more decked out as carriers.

The more I think about it, the more I think letting flotillas taking expanded hangers was a silly idea.

I never see that here... Never see expanded hangars on Flotillas.... They're using the fleet support option and nothing else - usually just CommsNetting

Same, don't think I've ever seen that. I've seen boosted comms Adar Talon though.

I see/use that constantly. Exp hangers and Flight Commander. Very efficient and turns an empty activation into a threat in a bomber list. Doesnt pair great with comms net though, not so bad on your BCC transport tho.

im in the boat its probably going to be a super carrier. 5 squadron, double offensive, but its offense wont be the best...at most 5dice of whatever combination.

I dunno, man - there were an awful lot of GR75s in that battle, and what else would they be doing there but running 'Bomber Command', given the predominance of X-Wings and Y-Wings?

Nevermind that we never saw the Profundity actually launch any fighters...

That said, the Visual Guide page for it seems to point to it carrying at least some, and it certainly commanded a large fleet of them.

Generally, I'd complain on this one about the ongoing disparity (from the dawn of this game) between 'squadrons a ship can command' and 'squadrons a ship can CARRY' (and why we don't have a split value, here)...

You Rebel scum can keep your MC-75s....the Imperial Navy will welcome our Dreadnought heavy cruisers or the Vindicator

Either way, u will be destroyed and Order restored

I'm not gonna lie...that MC75 does look pretty friggin cool.

According to wookiepedia, the MC75 has proton torpedo launchers, so it might be the first non-small Rebel ship with black dice, or perhaps even the first ever large ship with an ordnance slot.

What about the MC75 having a Fleet Support slot? Could be cool.

I'd say Fleet Command, but I'm still stinging about it being missing from Home One and the entire Imperial faction, and I'm going for an upgrade that unlocks it on a wider variety of ships.

If we go off of Rogue One, then it might be an extreme carrier. It seemed to be the center of controlling a large number of squadrons. Perhaps we will see a large based ship able to launch huge alpha strikes with squads. Perhaps squadron 5 & two offensive retrofits on one of the types?

2 red, 2 blue front and sides with no turbolaser or ion cannon upgrades. It would have two offensive retrofits, a defensive retrofit, an officer slot, a weapons team slot, and a support team slot, and a fleet support slot, so it can do Expanded Hangers, Rapid Launch bays, fc/fcts, flight controllers, and All Fighters Follow Me. It is also so cost prohibitive that you can't take more than 4 y wings.

That would make Peltas useless. Do you mean fleet command from the Pelta or fleet support from flotillas.

No ship has ever had OR, DR, Weapons Team AND Support Team, so I seriously doubt it will get all of that. In fact, only the ISD II and the MC80 Command have even three of the four. Also expecting it to get Fleet Support is I think a bit silly.

I only said all that so that it did all the fighter things. It's price point is what would keep the Pelta in business, though obviously it would have that slot.

I think it's just going to be a bigger Pelta with more fleet command upgrades.

Same with assault frigate mk2

I've actually started trying Expanded Hangar flotillas. I played it Tuesday, and throwing all 4 A-wings forward turn 2 is pretty fun. Also fun is going to be trying it with Leia, as I have a few janky lists that might actually be worth it. It's taking that quantity argument and adding quality to it in order to prep for fighting quasar swarms.

This is why we need a anti squad flotilla for this game

EHB is good with Toryn and BH but I prefer BC on my flots simply to keep them out of the fight and keeping clear paths for my fighting ships.

Mis-typed that - should have been 1300m. The databank says 1200m - but I think that should be reserved for the Liberty-type - which in Armada has a noticeably shorter model than the Home One.

Ackchyually... in the new canon it's bigger than an ISD. So closer to 2000m.

I think the MC75 should have a fairly light armament, but have both fleet Support and fleet command upgrade slots. That would bring a lot of versatility to the table.

I know we haven't seen it before, but there is a first time for everything.

Title should allow it to RLB a small ship.

Why would anyone want this? Purely for the lawls.

"Nothing, as we're too busy arguing what it means by cannot move this activation...?"

I'd rather not continue the Rebel squadron supremacy by letting a ship take AFFM and BCC and Adar Tallon/Toryn Farr.

I can understand the fleet commands, but what fleet support would you use? Comms Net? Slicer Tools? Jamming Field? Repair Crews? BCC is the best choice. It also further defeats the purpose of using flotillas as their intended use - fleet support - and gives you less risk by running them into the fight since their upgrades are on a more defensible ship.

Oh! I see what you did there! ::slow clap::

Repair crews and BCC would be thematic, but I see what your saying about flotillas.
