CC campaign length

Done some thoughts/math on the maximum number of campaign turns in CC

As each campaign turn generates atleast 2 or 3 Campaign victory points that can be won by either side, then you will have with:

4 players maximum 9 campaign turns. (to reach the 9 points that ends the campaign)

6 players maximum 8 campaign turns. (to reach the 12 points that ends the campaign)

And this only happens if the Campaign victory points is equally distriputed between the two sides and if there are no victory bonus points scored from battles played at bases.

On the other hand, if one side totally Blitzes the other side in the CC campaign by winning and scoring maximum Campaign victory points in each campaign turn.

Then it could all be over by the second campaign turn. As you can score up to 6 or 9 Campaign victory points per turn.

There are a couple of instances where no Campaign Points are awarded. Winning a base assault against a base on a +0 spot and doing your special objective. If both teams do their special objective, you'll end up with a turn where 0 campaign points are up for grabs in a 4-player and only 1 in a 6-player campaign.

As for the maximum, it would be 3 for a 4-player game and 5 points for a 6-player game. In a 6-player game, only the side with the fewest campaign points can score 5 points, the other side can score at most 4. This assumes a successful base assault against a +2 victory bonus location but I think there are only three or four on the entire map.

You are right I overlooked the special assaults, so theoretically the campign could go on forever with 4 players or last up to 23 turns with 6 players.

There are 5 locations that gives a +2 bonus.

So in a 4 player game that will be 2 battles with each giving 3 points = 6 points

and in a 6 player game that will be 3 battles with each giving 3 points = 9 points

This of cause is based on the theory that the loosing side has possesion of atleast three or four +2 locations when the campaign begins.

So there is a very slim theoretical chance that the campaign can end by the second turn, but its is most unlikely that that will happen as the odds are stacked to much against it. (never tell me the odds :P)

I'm pretty sure that winning a base assault battle at a location with a +2 victory point bonus only gives 2 points, not 1+2. I know that it doesn't make sense, but that seems to be how the rules are written.
