Most people will disagree but I would love an ISD-I!

small base ship for rebels that uses boarding. Large base ship for imperial. Something slow and lumbering but with a narrow and powerful front arc. Very weak side and rear.

What is amazing to me is how they could possibly add any more squadrons. The mix is so good and diverse that I do not envy their position. They need to sell more but I don't see how to add more.

There's plenty out there, still. Empire could get the Gunboats and Missleboats... Rebels could get the "uglies". Then there are the "neutral" faction ships we've seen crop up in X-Wing. Given their reliance on neutral factions in Imperial Assault, I wouldn't be surprised to see a neutral faction enter Armada eventually....or even a third party neutral factions like Black Sun and the like.

I hope they do a third faction for Pirates and scum like in Xwing, That would be pretty fun like Zann Consortium, Black Sun or the Hutts allowing them to make different styles of ships.

I really think that Armada is too large of a scale for third party factions unless its something like the Hapes Consortium. The Zann Consortium was made for a video game and is extremely unrealistic in my opinion. A criminal organization with capital ships to rival an ISD? Yeah, sure. Hapes was an independent government over what was a not insignificant portion of the galaxy and so would have a fleet capable of some level of competition with Imperial power.

All of that being said, I expect that there will be less and less pulling from Legends now that there is a new and evolving canon out there. Rebels has canonized the Hammerhead (Rogue One too!), so expect that soon. Same with the Carrier (Quasar I think), which could and should be Imperial. Those are the two most likely for the next wave, IMHO.

Edit: Oh yeah, and PLEASE no more fighters for a while. 12 different types of fighters with multiple aces is MORE than enough for now. A future CC'ing of the wave 5 fighters would be fine, but that's all. Please?

Yea, as much as I'd love to see the Lancer come in as a dedicated anti-squadron ship, the fact they've already recycled the Lancer name says that's a no go. They seem pretty infatuated with Corellia, maybe Wave 6 will be a full CorSec release.

First off, there's already a Lancer in the game. It's a squadron now.

Second, the original artwork for the Lancer is frankly not very good. It looks very generic, and even has the ignoble distinction of looking, shall we say, rather phallic in profile.

And of course there's the fact that the Raider already exists and looks far more appropriate for the existing universe and does the same thing.

Basically, the Lancer frigate will never happen. In fact, it has probably been explicitly scrapped by Disney. They'll create new ships that are easier to copyright and feel more like Star Wars.

The Lancer gets a brief appearance at a space station in the Tarkin Novel after the Disney Retcon so technically is canon and available for use. Personally appearance-wise I would prefer the lancer to the raider.

The Raider is the replacement as the "Anti-Squadron" Small Ship. As the Lancer was a bit Bigger than a CR90 which is what the Raider was made to Rival in X-wing and be the same scale as. It is also FFG's Original Ship design so that's pretty cool.

I still really want a cross faction Dreadnaught heavy cruiser.

The expansion could be called "Dark Force Rising"

If I remmeber the book correctly the dreadnaughts were AI controlled and less effective and responsive command-wise than a fully manned ship but made devastating due to their high volume of hulls and coordinated firepower.

That could follow gameplay wise - to make it interesting I would have it with four command, making it super slow and unresponsive, but also a great battery for command tokens.

Have it priced as relatively cheap for a medium based ship with heavy blue broadsides, but obviously requiring an investment to get the commands to function better by installing crew, giving list builders the option of either multiple cost effective but slow hulls or fewer more responsive hulls with more synergies with the rest of the fleet from the crew slots.

Give me Dreadnoughts! For both the Empire and the Rebellion!

The Dark Force ships (Katana Fleet) were slave rigged so they required less crew. It wasn't AI controlled so much as remote controlled and requiring considerably less crew. Dreadnoughts would be a good option for both sides as well as Hammerhead Corvette for rebels and Quasar for Imperials.
