Snapshot swarm

Anyone tried this yet?

Snapshot

6 Tie fighters shooting twice a turn seems pretty brutal. Even more brutal if snapshot activates before ships get a chance to do actions. Not 100% sure if that is how it works but if I am reading it right I would think it does. Anyways just wasting my afternoon building xwing lists and this one struck my fancy and I wanted to get a bit of feed back on it.

You know howl can't cause rerolls on snap shot right?

Yeah she is in there because I had extra points and she helps out their normal shots.

I flew the same list. Took out a double YT-1300 list. Works really well.

Against double YTs its pretty much a hard counter AGI 1 dies to snap shot (as does AGI 0). However, snap shot does nothing against the swarm's most dangerous for - Dengaroo. Lone wolf makes it just about impossible to damage him with unmodified snap shots (which only Rebel A-wings can do). Its a good, strong idea, but Crack shot is the better choice for the TIE swarm, in order to get damage through.

It does. Note that people who receive free tokens for executing maneuvers (like TIE/x7 defenders) would still have those, though.

I'd stick with Crack Shot for generic TIE fighters - it's cheaper, and nastier.

Snap Shot with Mauler Mithel is very impressive, though - against an AG0 ship (say, Rear Admiral Chiraneau), you can drop a 3 dice Snap Shot followed by a 4-dice primary attack - no-one, not even a decimator, laughs off seven attack dice in a single round.

Isn't adding a die a modification. Snap Shot can't be modified. So MM doesn't work. Explain how that works.

No, adding dice is not a modification, since it happens during the determine attack dice step of the attack. Using Focus, TLs, other abilities, etc count as modifying dice. Adding results (even blank ones) is a modification. But when determining the amount of dice rolled, there are no mods, just additional or (when facing Kanan, or on defense for tail Gunner, outmaneuver, etc) fewer dice rolled.

So Pure Sabaac would get a 3 dice snapshot as long as he is unhurt. Nice.
