[Podcast] Intensify Forward Firepower Episode XXVI!

By WWPDSteven, in Star Wars: Armada

RETURN OF THE JUDI

EZ and Dano are away from the conference room, trying to improve the Flesh Star Destroyer's defenses by spackling shut all the exhaust ports, so the ship's battle computer R1H4 steps in alongside the ship's doctor, Reinholt, to talk about their very early impressions on Wave 5. Obligatory Rogue One chat takes place as well, but for the most part Drunk Tarkin and Skyshuffler spend a lot of energy dodging all the blaster fire the newcomers bring aboard.

Curses! My victory was so close at hand, and now this abomination of bumbling malcontents breaches the surface of our forum?

Hopefully you will be crushed by my invisible hand as you, yet again, fail to monetize this thing like the layabout freeloaders you are.

What in the world are you taking about?

Worthington FFG III. man. You know- the plastic tycoon who runs FFG?

And offers stinging business advice!

Good thing Worthington isn't in charge of IFF, or the title of the thread would be:

IFF now available for download for the low low cost of $all the dollars!

I wouldn't call a vcx a liability in the squadron game. Sure it has heavy but 8 hull worth the blue dice isn't a liability. I also think sending 30 points on them is a waste. Just run hera and give yourself more flexibility

I think of it as this.

2 A-wings and 2 BC can be swapped for 2 VCX. I just did this to my Sato fleet and it will work nicely with my objectives as well. With 6 ships, Paragon and a 2 point bid, my opponent has a tough choice giving me my objectives, or allowing me to go last/first with Paragon.

Relay allows Sato to fly away on my flotilla while I push squad commands.

Hera doesn't have Strategic, which is probably the main justification for the VCX. If you just want squad pushing I agree Hera is a totally viable option.

Start talking about Armada already I'm 12 minutes in!

Edit: 16 minutes in and one bit of Armada content. Back to filler.

You have a ways to go!

I live for this kind of feedback.

Luckily I am not held to the standard of providing meaningful or at least mildly useful substance in other aspects of my life because there would be even more disappointment. Fortunately for me everyone I'm surrounded by has learned to work or live with realistically low expectations.

Biggs IRL doesn't appreciate the CHAREESMA you bring to the 'cast Jud!

I hereby offer a full refund to anyone not satisfied with this podcast.

Psst.

Totally tongue in cheek, but You may want to change that wording.

Offer a Product refund instead.

Because in some jurisdictions, a full refund includes all costs involved in obtaining and utilising said product, if they are in addition to standard expenses.

... and its only now in Canada that Internet is considered a "basic service"....

So you don't want to be payin' for some schmucks Broadband now, do you? :D

Tongue in Cheek.

Except I've already had people try to use Refund laws on me and my 'small' business.

So,. yknow. Whatevs.

People are Crazy, y'know :D

I'll still try to scrounge up time to listen.

I'm not finished with the podcast, but get out of my head!!!

I haven't even put an Arc down on the table and I want a 2nd one. And the Pelta so far has been "whatever" whenever I try list building.

That being said, I want defensive upgrades to work. I really do. I just feel like trading offensive output for damage mitigation should work slightly better than it does in the game so far. I'm not a turtle guy, I just want to see some ships take a beating and somehow limp out the other end giving the raspberry to the opponent if they haven't focused fire or had some sub-par dice.

We know...(insert billowing gastric gases).

Arq is still the best ship in the game, point for point.

Can't argue. Broadsides are SO MUCH better than front arc it isn't even funny. And Imperials have a cheap broadsider priced equivalent to a NebB.

Ugh, gonna be impossible to catch, impossible to kill, and murder everything by death of a thousand cuts.

Great listen, thanks. Can't wait for the CC episode. Get Crack'lin!

You know there was WAY too much actual Armada talk in this episode. People might get the impression that you guys actually like this game.

I even saw some (probably impostors) playing on Vassal last night with a x6 Arquitens fleet. That's obsession grade stuff right there.

(I'm also hooked on the Arquitens and am desperately trying NOT to order like 4-6 of them **** it.)

Caribbean I think you joined just as Craig's wonderfully named MC30 went down!

I agree- far too much Armada talk that episode. I want to make Biggs' head explode next time.

It is definitely an awesome ship, and opens up so many build options for the Imperials. And it is surprisingly hard to kill.
