New player although im reading alot and trying to absorb the information posted around and watch videos etc to speed up the learning process. This is a list ive come up with that id like some advise on. The thinking behind the list is that i think with my maneuverability and speed i should be in a good position to out fly my opponent and steal points be destroying their squadrons and hopefully a few of their ships. I dont really want to engage in a stand up fight and so ive gone for fast Corvettes and the Gladiator.
Ive seen and thought it very useful to go through the choices ive made and why in other peoples posts and so i thought id follow suit.
Raider-I Class Corvette (44 points)
- Impetuous ( 4 points)
- Agent Kallus ( 3 points)
- Ruthless Strategists ( 4 points)
- Quad Laser Turrets ( 5 points)
- Flechette Torpedoes ( 3 points)
= 63 total ship cost
I figure that with Impetuous, Agent Kallus and the Flechette Torps this becomes a squadron hunting beast, enabling it to threaten the Squadron balls out there and against Rebels position in a way to either break the ball or force them to take of the anti-squadon. The Quads and the Ruthless Strat help to deal damage when being attacked
Raider-II Class Corvette (48 points)
- Admiral Montferrat ( 5 points)
- Sensor Team ( 5 points)
- NK-7 Ion Cannons ( 10 points)
= 68 total ship cost
Again a very fast ship and i aim to use it in more of a snipe role to pester and remove defensive tokens or kill smaller ships. Monterrat and Evade mean i think it can survive on the turns when things are close. Not sure on the NK-7s at 10 points and could consider Hanger Bays instead
Gozanti-class Assault Carriers (28 points)
- Vector ( 2 points)
- Expanded Hangar Bay ( 5 points)
= 35 total ship cost
Gozanti-class Cruisers (23 points)
- Suppressor ( 4 points)
= 27 total ship cost
Seem pretty standard, Suppressor can maybe mess with opposing Squadron commands or Nav if i manage to get behind them with the Gladiator. They also add to the anti-Squadron flak and with a Squadron token and dial between them can activate 7 of the 8 squadrons.

So before ive concentrated on the Demolisher title and trying to take advantage of the ships maneuverability with Engine Techs to get in close but i think i can get the same or more with the Insidious and it also lets me stay a little further away. Wulff is to enable the Nav token movement from Engine Techs every turn if needed and Sensor team is to lock down Braces. I realise Ozzel is a rare choice but it seems that he could play well with all my ships being speed 3+ (hes also cheap) i did consider Motti to add more survival to the list but want to try Ozzel first.

1 "Mauler" Mithel ( 15 points)
1 Black Squadron ( 9 points)
5 TIE Fighter Squadrons ( 40 points)
Vader seems like a strong anti Squadron choice, Mauler can add to the hurt and the Black Squadron add another Counter. The Fighters are the cheapest Ruthless Strat targets and with Swarm can hopefully tie up and kill things. Maybe Interceptors would be better then thats more cost to my ruthless strat sacrifices.

All these seem to favor my speed although im still not sure if i want to go first or not so would really appreciate some thoughts on that.
