About those Fletchette Torps....

It's the range issue for me. I just can never get fighters in black range. One time I almost did, but my fighters activated first and blew it up.

You need to be willing to take the first punch, but position your fighters in such a way that the other guy won't get in more than 1-2 squadrons on your Raider before he starts getting engaged. It takes some time to master. You can also do well with positioning a Raider near your a Rhymer ball or some such so those who are trying to engage it and shoot it down get to eat flak. Just make sure you aren't running over your own squadrons.

That's where Instigator paired with a couple TIEs helps. You navigate the Raider into range of Intel squadrons, and then use the TIEs to force fire away from Instigator itself. The TIEs die, but it gives you the time you need to start in with the Flechettes.

Just so people know, with a Raider I with OE you have a slightly more than 68% chance to crit, or slightly more than 82% chance with Kallus and OE. Add Impetuous and against one Squadron that chance goes up to about 90% after the second shot (97% with Kallus).

Or 100% if you have Screed! (at least against a single enemy squad)
