Dunwich is off the boat

By HolySorcerer, in Arkham Horror: The Card Game

Dunwich Legacy has been updated from "On the Boat" to "Shipping Now". Time for rejoicing, followed by horror.

that's good news!

Will make January less of an armpit month.

Hooray!

One thing I've been wondering. Are people going to play these scenarios as they are released or wait until they are all out to run the campaign? My concern is that by the time the last Mythos pack is released, I'll have totally forgotten what happened in the first scenario. Not only that, but I'll have to store away my components for a whole month between each playing and hope I remember (and wrote down) everything I need to know.

I think I'll plan on playing the big box once and then restart the campaign after I've got my hands on every pack I intend to buy.

I'll probably do a mixed approach. When I first get the box I'll start a campaign off with one or more sets of investigators (I typically play solo with a pair of investigators). Once I get to what I think is a satisfactory outcome I'll put things aside until the Mythos pack arrives. Once I get the pack, I'll update the decks using XP and new cards and play the new adventure with at least one prior investigator set. I'll also likely start someone off new once I unravel more of what is going on. Repeat process as Mythos packs arrive. I could also envision keeping one pair of investigators idle for several Mythos packs and then playing several packs in a row.

Yeah, for LOTR I have a campaign through the Saga boxes that I play as the first time through each scenario. Then I have one I started a couple boxes in and once we have all the boxes I'll go back again. I think it's fun to have a campaign that you're playing each scenario blind with. It can be rough but it feels more exciting. You can always record your campaign info and decks so you can return to them later.

I noticed they are now posting an 'expected arrival time' on the upcoming page too. In this case the 12th of January. That's a new thing, yeah?

That took way too long for them to implement. This should have been done a long time ago without having to look up distributor lists and ask for shipping dates at the store.

just preordered mine :D
