To both acquire adequete firepower and enough dice support to stay alive; (If you add a Regen Poe Dameron) looking for suggestions. This also assumes that first placement of the Falcon is in range 3 and WILL be aggressive with the placement.
Edited by CgriffithIf you use (HoTR) Han what is the best build possible?
I won a tournament (4-0) with this list, albeit only 8 people, but I played Dengaroo, x7 Defenders, IG-88s and a Protectorate Swarm. Han survived most, and Norra made a great 30-odd point addition that did a lot more damage output than Poe.
Han Solo
Lone Wolf
Hot Shot Co-Pilot
Gunner
Engine Upgrade
Millennium Falcon (Evade)
Norra Wexley
Push the Limit
R5-P9
Rey
Alliance Overhaul
That's 99 points so you got a bit to play with. Stripping tokens and forcing through damage and then basically a Norra with two focus and a target lock every round. The best thing about this Han is you can still play him like the old one, but you're breaking up your opponents play by forcing him to second guess his own approach. You can draw them out with a slow roll Norra (which is fine because she could collect focus tokens all day) and break their concentration of fire down by dumping Han anywhere on the board.
I'm by no means an above average player but I really enjoyed playing it too.
Here's the build I tried out trying to use his interesting new ability. It's a pretty maneuverable build that doesn't need engine upgrade. And HotR Han needs an independent wingman that can handle being targeted by most of the enemy team. I chose Miranda for the health and SLAM but Poe or Corran were the other ships I considered.
(55) YT-1300: · Han Solo (HotR) (46)
· Lone Wolf (2)
Smuggling Compartment (0)
Recon Specialist (3)
· Jan Ors (2)
· Millennium Falcon (Segnor's Loop) (1)
Burnout SLAM (1)
(45) K-Wing: · Miranda Doni (29)
Extra Munitions (2)
Twin Laser Turret (6)
Conner Net (4)
Vectored Thrusters (2)
· Captain Rex (2)
Unfortunately after I tried Expertise/Gunner on the OT Han it's been tough to revisit HotR Han. It's too bad HotR Han can't take Veteran Instincts and Lone Wolf, because he really could use both.
This is what I was thinking originally in regards to just Han
HoTR - Han
MF (Old) - Title
Veteran Instincts
Rey
Sabine Wren
- Conner Net
Smuggling Compartment
- Burnout Slam
My only concern is the defensive rolls unless I can keep him AFTER the inittal engagement at Range 3, because without Expertise and either Finn/C-3PO I'm lacking green dice. So I'm wondering do I drop Sabine and Rey and add them or is there some other modifications to be made

I run Norra/Rey (S-Loop) a lot, I do like the old title but I also like the new ability; I'm trying to find the middle ground. Nice list
Thing is, any of these builds with HotR Han just get better with Original Han.
How do you stop the Resistance Han from getting eaten alive by Defenders/Palpatine?
Or in that matter, the Rey list? I've tried a Rey/Norra build, but each time I've flown it the Defenders go straight to Norra and crush her, and then chase Rey around who can't get enough damage through. Norra doesn't seem to be able to get to the Shuttle fast enough before blowing up to help take it down so that the Defenders have to rely on their green dice.

That's a good question. When I use Rey which is my default Falcon pilot I use Kanan & Finn so I can s-loop can clear stress immediately but I have been trying out Finn and C-3PO. I beat a Defenders list a couple days ago with the (C-3PO & Finn build) but I had to fly very smart and diligently. Arc-dodging Poe was her wingman
Edited by CgriffithI don't believe HOTR Han can be better than OT Han gun to gun. I think the point of the new Falcon was to introduce Rey and Finn as an option with an S-loop.
Now Han's new ability is interesting but it really is no comparison. You need a high pilot skill to make use of it. So an un-named pilot wouldn't work. Han was the one who makes sense to slot that ability. I haven't run a list with new Han yet, but my strategy is going to be disrupt and break up enemy formations on Turn 1, then swoop in with support ships. Chaos bomb.

That's what I was thinking as well; the question then is crew. It appears the old title (evade) is superior in that it gives you that evade but then limits the crew options wiith a Sabine loadout; Rey builds seem to be more straight forward and superior (depending on title choice).
