CC "initiative"

By Daht, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

It says when making an assault, the assaulting player has Initiative.

Initiative means being able to choose to be player 1 or player 2 in a scenario.

Now, on a special assault there is no reason to be player 2, and when attacking a base having the attacker be player 2 is nonsense..

It says that the assaulting player must choose from the defender's objective cards (and/or location cards)..

But it never states that the assaulting player has to be player 1...

I'm assuming this is an oversight.. but technically by the book I can assault your base and with initiative choose to be player 2...

Initiative means you're first player. There is no bidding in CC.

I'm sure that's what they mean, but in Armada Initiative specifically means you choose first or second player. Just a minor errata.

Jambo75 is right, the player with initiative is the first player.

I let you for reference page 6 of the RRG:

"First Player

The first player is the player with initiative."

Jambo75 and Lemmiwinks86 are right. In CC initiative (who is 1st and 2nd) for the Battle Phase is determined in the Strategy Phase.

In the Strategy Phase, the team with fewer campaign points will decide which player will have initiative (ie. be 1st player) in the first assault. The opposing team then decides which of that team's members will be second player in that assault, and then decides which of its remaining players will be first player in the second assault. The first team will match one of its members to be second player in that second assault. If there are 6 players, the first team will then get to decide the location of the third assault. It will assign its third member to be first player. The remaining player on the second team will be second player in that third assault.
