Krassis

By dman busta, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I'd like to take my imperial firespray off the shelf and get it some action.

Always been drawn to Krassis as a fun pilot to throw down so my ideal build starts there.

My thoughts are load it out with a mangler cannon, which I know seems crazy since it doesn't add any extra dice, but it does prevent the range bonus from kicking at 3. His ability is a perfect match for it to grant the free reroll, and would have the potential to force through crits if I could pair him with high pilot buddies.

For a crew spot I thought of a recon specialist to allow for a focus on both offense and defense.

Just between the crew and mangler, he's already a hefty 43 points.

As a casual build to play, I think it's a start. Anyone have suggestions for some crew to load out with? Or a different Krassis build you have flown before?

Thanks for the input.

However, that is quite out dated now. The issue with the Imperial Firespray is that for what it offers, there are better options available in the Imperial Arsenal, i.e Defenders. They are cheaper, faster and more durable.

It depends on whether you tend to see enemy squads with 2, 3 or more ships - the fewer ships you see across the board, the more Agent Kallus becomes a good idea.

On the agility 2, fairly tough firespray he's not a bad investment at all. Cheaper than a recon specialist and doesn't require your action - meaning you can then use your action to evade.

Slave 1 and Long Range Scanners is a nice (free!) combination, allowing you to get a full target lock off fairly easily. Paired up with Krassis' rerolls, he could make a nice mess with a missile of some kind - I'd suggest concussion or cluster missiles.

A big part of Krassis' problem is that you tend to find yourself fighting from your rear arc with a firespray a surprising amount, and you can't fire cannons and missiles that way.

Thank you guys for the feedback. I only ever play 1 other player as there is no where to play in town, and he nornally runs some scum or rebel builds with some 3 ship synergy. Since it's just us we normally run some different builds to keep it interesting.

I agree. Imperial firespray definitely seems to be lacking, especially at that point cost.

I like the missile idea.

The latest idea I played was

Firespray-31: ·

Krassis Trelix (36)

Concussion Missiles (4)

Guidance Chips (0)

· Agent Kallus (2)

· Slave I (0)

Extra Munitions (2)

44 points but some incredibly accurate missiles. It suffered from the rear firing arc issue as mentioned though. And it was lacking good synergy with other ships.

Still, I had fun with it. Palp aces are boring compared to the shenanigans the scum runs, so it's nice to mix it up.

If you found yourself using your rear arc a lot, maybe try Boba with VI and Tail Gunner Crew?

PS10 Boba with minus one agility out the back isn't too shabby, its not great but it isn't bad either. Plus. . . Its Boba Fett.

However, as Magnus said, Krassis + Agent Kallus + Mango Cannon isn't a bad shout. Slow roll Krassis and just try to take as many range 3 shots as possible, maybe even taking the evade action (how this thing has the evade action when the Defender didn't and the Starviper doesn't is beyond me) to increase your survivability.

Krassis is my jam. He would strangle a puppy to get an EPT, however. HLC and tail gunner gives a party in the front, party in the rear.

She's built for clusters, i popped fleet officer on her and put some bombers with her, called it the Imperial

Bidet to fight against the scum toilet seats a meta or two ago. Its still a fun list that needs a tweak or two, but could be viable.

My preference is hlc and rebel captive. I generally have another ~34 point ace with him that makes target priority an issue.

The problem is that oicunn with predator and 1 crew is only a few points more.
