This came up on a slightly different issue previously, and was basically suggested (by Email, however, not FAQ'd) that it only applies to the Damage

That incident was "What if Luke's Critical Hit was Projector Misaligned... He's treating the Ship as if it has no shields, does that Critical hit do nothing..?"
