Homecoming questions

By Purple Orc, in Imperial Assault Campaign

I just started playing Imperial Assult and my rebel players picked Homecoming as their first side mission. After reading the mission I have a couple of questions.

The mission says apply additional health to Luke equal to twice the threat level. Now is that the level from the back of the campaign book or the threat level on the dial that has been adjusted by the special set up?

Also what does it mean when it says the mission will progress when the door to the garage are open? Do I not advance the round dial until then?

Thank for the help, and sorry for any typos, i'm writing this on my phone.

Threat level is the what's on the mission log / back of the campaign book. It escalates "over time" throughout the campaign. If you played Homecoming as the last side mission later in the campaign, Luke would have more health than he will for your specific campaign.

When it says the mission will progress when the door to the garage opens... that means that there's an event that takes place when that happens. If you read through the whole mission, you'll see an event that triggers when that door opens. Most events like that give the Empire additional units on the board, threat / an optional deployment, etc. Smart Rebel players will learn to never open doors (a common event trigger) or do whatever advances the mission with their last activation.

Hope that clears things up.

It's a very common mistake to confuse those 2

Threat = the red number on your dial right now

Threat level = check the campaign log, how far have the campaign progressed?

Almost all side mission have "increase threat by twice the threat level and resolve an optional deployment" as special setup. This is to compensate that players will be much more powerful in say side mission #4 (better weapons, more xp...) than side mission #1

"The mission will progress when X" is for Rebels. As Imperial you keep doing the dial stuff (threat & round), but they only know what's the winning condition after X happens

Also read the second page of the campaign book to the rebels, or let them read it themselves. There's nothing secret before page 4.

You will notice that "the mission progresses" is an interim Rebel goal. When they achieve that, another mission event tells them what their next (and potentially final) objective is.

Thanks for all the help. It makes sense now.
