Green Knight vs. Lord Preyer (Pod 3):
He was 1st player and picked my Contested Outpost.
10-1 (MoV 388) to GK.
My Vader ISD-GSD-Raider-Goz-Screen vs his Motti ISD-Arq-Goz-Defender Swarm
We set up fairly traditionally across from one another, then I started farming for tokens and he moved to engage. Ciena Ree held off his Defenders for far longer than she had any right you, saving Demolisher from a possibly devastating bombing run. Which in turn allowed me to complete my pincer movement.
Despite the score it was actually quite tense util the very end of round 3, when my Demolisher finished off the Motti ISD. Had it lived with just 1 hull point there would have been a huge points swing, as it would have taken my Vader ISD down with it.
So again Armada turns out to be a game where nothing is decided until the last die has been rolled.
Lord Preyer was a skilled, and unfailingly polite and good-humored opponent. Hope to meet him again.
Thanks GK! Despite my thrashing I really enjoyed our game. Now *thats* what I call a pincer movement! Came out having learned a lot.

Yeah when you draw JJ in your Pod you are shooting for second. Somebody has to play him!
Just a suggestion to reduce the length of this thread. The players in my pod are using messenger on this forum to schedule matches and it seems to be working pretty well so far. I'll be taking on SkyCake Thursday 11 PST. Now I just need to see what I'll be competing against.

Ginkapo's list is making me thoughtful ... I tried stubborn ramming corvettes once, but when VSDs were everywhere. And indeed, reinforced back doors sounds like a great addition, especially now that the meta has shifted to ships more like MC-30s and upgraded flotillas.
How are you guys feeling ? Will this list ram through everything ? Or is it very match-up dependent ?

Honestly while hilarious I hope it proves to not be viable. Ram strategies are cute and fun only so long as they don't become prevelant. Gink's got skills tho I'm sure he'll prove a tough out regardless of how good the list winds up being.

Because, looking at the competition... well.... this is going to be rough( and you know you're not the favorite to win when the letters in you name are transposed)

I share your feeling, but I feel they could be quite strong. I will be happy if it has a good show, but it would be bad for the game if it became the prevalent strategy.
I think several of us tested it in early waves, but blast door and Rieekan are likely massive additions.
In fact I am wondering why the bomber squadrons instead of more rams. Admonition : 2 rams, Demolisher : 3 rams, MC-80 : 4 rams

ET ram-spam with Rieekan and RBD...doesn't get more cheesy than that. I'm all for encompassing a wide variety of builds, but that's not the kind of Armada I want to play.
It turns out getting out of the Hospital is actually a lot busier and time consuming than I thought. On the plus side I am out. I will have all the lists up by tomorrow morning. Don't worry.
