I thought he might not be able to save the squadrons but he can at least Avenge them

Green Knight vs Green Squadron 3 halted at the start of round 4 (we're setting commands) due to internet issues at GS3s place.

I've killed some of his squads (including the "hero" Luke Skywalker), but he bagged my Raider (so sad, the little thing never had a chance to grow up to be a mighty ISD like his siblings). Round 4 will be most decisive - fleets are about to clash!

Note: I didn't catch your AF evade; it's not possible, since you can't use red tokens vs. Avenger. That's why I stated you had to take 2 to the side. I changed that, but I think you dropped before it happened. Just so you know.

JJs vs HERO postponed

:(

Sorry man! Apologies again as I had to take care of some urgent shh at home.

I was looking over the lists as an outsider and it felt like a inordinate amount of ISDs...

So I counted:

11 ISD 1

5 ISD 2

Hmmmm... and I thought I read somewhere that big ships were supposed to be dead.

I haven't counted the rest, but I feel it is a lot of MC30 and CR90 (although this total is likely skewed due to 1 particular list - you know who you are)

I think all us Imps are taking the ISD1 for a spin now that Tua is around to mitigate the lack of ECMs.

Some of us just love the armament and took a Damage Control Officer instead.

And by some of us, I mean me. Because I'm apparently crazy.

Astrologers proclaim the wave of ISDs. ISD population doubles!

I think that the decrease in average activation count made 3-4 ship builds more common which favors large ships. Also it seems that one of the common imperial builds nowadays is ISD/Demo/Gozanti.

But ISDs are so cute, I refuse to fly without.

And since I usually fly a near-naked ISD-I, I decided to take a Christmas tree 2 :)

Matt, can you update the first page so we can see all the pods/lists?

Matt, can you update the first page so we can see all the pods/lists?

Pretty please?

My first "busy day" since I got home. I'll have all the PODs on Page 1 tomorrow.

Also Vipcard gave me his list, so you folks in the Fleet Patrol are a full POD of Fleet Patrol fun now!

Small report - with only a few days past since gaming started, we have some interesting things developing in the PODs already.

In POD #1, JRockNZ and Reath28 scored exactly the same score against thecactusman17, putting him on the outside looking in.

POD#2 has Gink win his early game.

POD#3 has 3 games played of 6, with Miedo having played none. Green Knight in a commanding lead with 17 points out of 20 possible. Lord Pryor and Green Squadron in a tight competition for 2nd place without Miedo showing up.

POD#4 is a different story, with emfrank being all but eliminated, but Maturin and Skycake taking a solid #2 and #1 without Brobafett showing up to a game.

POD#5 has JJs winning a tight game, but that isn't going to get him to the next round - we'll see how he does against HERO and itzSteve.

POD#6 has Cninja winning his early game by a decent amount.

POD#7 :effort:

Finally, POD #8 have 1 game apiece, with a score range of 4, 5, 6, 7. Anyone's POD still!

POD 1 Result:

Rebel victory over Imperial Oppressors!

My Ackbar-powered fleet fought JaredNZ's Motti ISD/Interdictor/Gozanti fleet in the Fighter Ambush mission. I chose this one because my Z95/YT2400/Xwing squadrons were numerically superior to Jared's 4 Decimators. The Decimators are EXTREMELY good, but with no non-heavy squadrons I was able to do a merry little dance where undamaged squads kept them pinned from moving while damage squadrons shot and then retreated to the station to heal.

The Decimators dropped a ton of bricks on one YT2400, but then all got whittled down to nothing. The Z95s deserve special mention, they really performed above their points cost.

The Capital ship engagement was an unusual one, with jared dropping most of his fleet to 0 to allow the ISD to zoom into battle while my fleet attempted to rocket across the board and get behind them - here's a screenshot of the beginning of turn 5, and that's the enemy board edge those insane frigates are cramming themselves down :D

A risky plan, but it seemed like a good idea at the time.

When the dust had settled, all imperial ships and fighters had been destroyed for the loss of one Y2400.

Final score:

445 -vs- 16

Thanks for a good game and for being such a good sport Jared! Play you any time.
