You rate Solar Corona that highly?
I'd still take DT in a dodonna fleet, and I expect a lot of people enjoy invulnerability to obstacles while their opponents take crits for points.

I think people are uncomfortable setting up first - that's the main advantage of Solar Corona. The acc loss isn't so bad for many fleets - classic DeMSU and variations, bomber lists etc., yet still they avoid SC due to the setup restrictions. Cuz it's not fun to have a HUGE deployment advantage...only to see it disappear.

I'll extend the offer back, Gink! Don't mistake my Sunny Disposition for weakness ;)

The deployment effect without the backfire possibilty of superior positions? Absolutely.

DT for me was always the Blue safe choice if nothing else worked for my fleet. Anf it doesn't do enough, even with dodonna, to force my opponent into choosing my red or yellow objective which often synergize strongly with my fleet.

Well done Zanos. PantyPotato played a heck of a game.

Indeed a great game.

And shadowlard I'll overlook the name slight and just assume you're saying "potato that is out of breath"

Ard vs. Mood POD#6 final game scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 29 6:00pm CST.

I'll be posting advancement articles through the weekend if your pod is finished up.

Unfortunately I have been called away at short notice for work (military) and will be unable to play the rest of my games as I will now be away for two months from late tomorrow. I would like to thank Biggs for running a great tournament to date and apologise for the inconvenience. Best of luck to MattShadowlord who is also representing POD1.

Ugh. I liked this post just so I could unlike it. Gotta hate military life some days.

I second this.

I eventually grew tired of the whole thing and quit so I could study the Force and become a Jedi.

They still call me up once a year for exercises, but I don't get to spend months away from home anymore.

Calling JRockNZ to take over!

So, prior to seeing this, I was doing the numbers on those of you that advanced. It was... interesting.

Of the 14 players that advanced to elimination:

Imperials: 11

Rebels: 3

Average Activations: 4.5 (4.2 without the Gink outlier)

Average Deployments: 7.0

Average Bid: 393.0

Admiral breakdown?

Born to be an outlier.

Average hull value? Thats the real measure of a list!

Averages do not concern me Admiral, I want three ships.

Sorry to hear that you have been called away at short notice Reath. Stay safe out there.

Biggs, I can pickup the vacant slot.

Ard vs Moodswing kicks off in 20ish minutes.

... to add a fourth Rebel to the elimination rounds... ;)

Why do I feel like the tackling dummy of pod #6.....

Given that Reath is dropping, what does that mean for our elimination round pairings?

Are we taking the #2-3 placed finishers in pod 1? Do we need to redo the pairings since Reath was #1 seed in pod 1?

The answer is of great interest to me since I'm in pod 8 and my elimination pairing could be affected by this change.

The answer to you is this: With Reath dropped, the best remaining player in POD #1 will be the Winner, and the second best remaining player will be the runner up.

If POD play had been finished, whoever was suppposed to play Reath would have gotten a free win, but fortunately we are able to have MORE ARMADA instead!

In a pod as great as ours, everybody's a winner.

Well, mostly CNinja.

But also, everybody!

Fleet Patrol is unofficially concluded:

Fleet Patrol Points MOV Games
tgall 15 308 2
BMcDonald7 14 235 2
Dupy 3 0 2

Congratulations to Tgall - winner of the fleet patrol!

Congratulations to BMcDonald7 - runner up!

And congratulations to Dupy, Spirit of Competition Prize Winner!

Each one has through perseverence earned their right to automatic entry into the 2018 World Cup!

Dr Alex vs NebB

NebB was player one and chose navigation hazards, which I have learnt is an awful objective for an interdictorball.

he couldn't kill me, I couldn't catch him, I killed a z-95 before they all ran away and shredded admonition's defenses, he killed my gozanti and made me fly into lots of hazards. In the end we called it at the beginning of turn five as he had disengaged, we worked out obstacle damage and he got a couple more tokens. Final score 92-7 a 7-4 to Neb B.

I have learnt that while one can take a super tanky 3 interdictor list, one should not do so unless someone holds a gun to your head

You had a rough pod man. I wouldn't take it to heart if I were you.
