Errant Venture?

By BansheeBowlerHat, in Star Wars: Armada

Has anyone tried painting an Imperial Star Destroyer as Booster Terrik's Errant Venture? I am keen to paint up one of mine but I was hoping there would be inspiration from those more talented than me!

On that note do you think we will ever see titles (Like the Errant Venture) that allow a rebel player to run an specific imperial ship or vice versa?

I hope so mostly because I think it would be fun especially for future campaigns. And that is were I think they would release them if they do.

@smurfwedge has done so. Not sure if it's finished.

Please let's not go down the Sabines TIE route...

Also, after many enjoyable years of playing xwing v tie fighter, taking a Neb or Corvette as an imp would be fine with me

I dont think we will see any rebel star destroyers. The new canon has stated that no imperial star destroyers where captured by the Rebellion or New Republic. I personally think that is stupid because also in new canon a PIRATE gang captured and SSD.

I always got the impression (at least in Legends) that the shear amount of maintenance and crew required by an ISD would actually make them really bad ships for everyone but the largest governments.

Well, the Errant Venture was more a casino than a warship. At least half the weapons were offline, but left on the hull as a bluff, and a bunch of it was not even able to hold an enviroment. It took a loan from the New Republic to even make it worthwhile in a fight, if I remember.

In the Legends Hand of Thrawn books the Errant Venture gets a complete overall and upgrade, I however would be fine with taking a slightly underpowered ship as a trade off for not normally being allowed to field it for my faction. I do agree the imperials should have access to Nebs and Corvettes but I get that it is for game balance that they don't have them. Wow those two Errant Ventures look good!

The easiest way would be to limit it to only fire from one arc at a time, but Im not sure that would limit it enough.

Or perhaps count every attack against a ship as obstructed?

And Imps get a stolen mc80? Or mc75 (it was captured and boarded yea?) How about X-Wings squadrons, they were imp design.

Errant Venture had significantly less firepower than a normal ISD. So it could easily be a title that make ISD Rebel, but your armament out the front is now only 5 dice and the sides would be 3. Title would then be negative points. Rebels would get a POS ISD that could serve as carrier and flagship and little else.

The problem with this is that it is stated in another new canon book that the New Republic had captured 3 SSD's. People not working together to establish the new canon making a mess of things. Could just be put down to intel not getting out, or being classified, but it's still annoying. Even for those who did not care for the old EU, at least it did not blatantly contradict itself as much.

*edit* Aftermath: Life Debt is the source of this. 1 was captured and 2 were surrendered. If 2 SSD's surrendered to the NR, I find it hard to believe that not a single ISD would.

Actually, quite the opposite.

Everyone is working together from the one playsheet to establish the new Canon.

The thing with the above, is the timeframes involved.
