Is Expertise the death of Sensor Jammer

By Pewpewpew BOOM, in X-Wing

Predator is typically better for Vader because remember he does NOT want to use that TL. If you get a double blank roll, Expertise wont help, Predator might.

Can you imagine how mean Vader would be if Imps had a way to simply remove stress ala kanan or cassian pilot? Rage him. Rerolls w/o TL while still having a TL.

Far as i know the only way you can get Imp ships to shed stress without a green move is Wingman, which has its own issues. TIE Shuttle following him around with Inspiring Recruit comes to mind but i think he'd blast too far ahead of it lol

Inspiring Recruit on Major Stridan, but you'd need Wingman somewhere else for it to be efficient/unpredictable... GSV Shuttle with Wingman, Recruit, Fleet Officer might work.

Grand Son Vader?

Ohhh.....Gamma Squad Vet. I thought you were getting all Mynock Squad crazy with nicknames there for a minute.

I'm not sure one expensive card can push out another since they're both so prohibitively expensive.

I haven't used it yet to my inability to find the U to purchase, but I'm itching to try it on a never-used-ship:1E510B35-E368-4406-8356-0EFFE854F1E7.pngB02EC9FD-F91E-460D-8DAC-7074E3C6430D.jpg93204AAF-85A9-45FF-88F1-514DFE967251.jpg

But Sensor Jammer is a usual on some ships, Lambda is certainly one; and one friend likes it on all of his large ships for some reason. It'll be fine...

I don't think Expertise will see a massive amount of use, but I do think it will see about as much use as the most popular non-PTL elites.

I think in my local meta mind-link has already overtaken PTL. Though the whole meta has become super scummy since worlds. And btw, one of the reason PTL was overtaken by mindlink is simply the fact that stress bots are back in the meta as scouts are out for the most part.

Thouh expertise for sure is interesting on rebel TLTs … if those had EPTs ;-)

thats the problem. You need someone to use Wingman and Wingman's range1 limit coupled with Vader's constant barrelrolling could easily push him out of range.

If it wasnt for the TIE Adv having such bad greens it would work just having him tied to greens. But even with Mk2 the TIE Adv always seems to find it doesnt want to use its green moves, it wants to Kturn or 2/3Turn. Thats honestly the main reason Vader is so good but the TIE Adv sucks - he ignores its dial issues.

Cowardice!! Tie/D Ion!

Then Vessery would be the obvious choice. Two fully modified attacks each turn, without ever using an action for it.

Actually, Vessery is always the obvious choice over Brath.

Nooooooope vessery simply can't cripple things like a properly set up Rexler can, remember he can flip all face down cards there's no one better able to pile on crits than brath.

Expertise frees you from having to take a shuttle to buff you can now take a more offensive ship in that third slot like duchess.

I'd say Vessery's ability deals a lot more damage than Brath's. And is much easier to trigger.

I wouldn't be so optimistic. Sensor Jammer is rarely used anyway, because of focus token stacks and this is yet another reason not to use sensor jammer. But i think that if you want, you can make it work anyway, some stress and token-stripping will come in handy.

At least locally, Expertise has been extremely popular. We had a short 3-round tournament on Tuesday, and each opponent I faced was running one to two copies (I was running two copies as well). Only one opponent had Expertise on all of their ships, however, so Sensor Jammer would have had a chance to work in 2 of the 3 games.

Pilot skill is something that shouldn't be ignored. Vessery is outmatched by pretty much everyone if he uses Expertise, Rexler still ties most relevant candidates.

expertise is crazy good for ships that free re-rolls that have decent to high ps, rey+fin+expertise, or even scum boba with dengar crew(or any scum ship and dengar crew...). It will have a few ships that will be a match made in heaven but otherwise won't be seen as much

True, but Rexler pays 2 squad points for that extra PS. And his pilot ability is so situational that it's almost useless, while Vessery's ability is awesome.

Just take a look at some tournament results on ListJuggler. How many Rexler Braths do you see making the cut, and how many Colonel Vesserys? There is your answer.

I found Vessery to be underwhelming in late game situations and especially with Expertise Rexlers ability can't be brushed away like you do. He is able to chose between Vesserys offense against shielded and high damage mitigation targets or crippeling all crit blows.

Expertise is a new upgrade, obviosly there aren't any results with it, yet. Vessery is good, but if you wan't a lategame ship, Rexler is a consideration.
