Ray/Han

By dpuck1998, in Star Wars: Destiny

Is this viable if I am the proud owner of two Han cards/dice? (is that what eHan means?) What does a good support deck look like, I assume as many cards with Ambush as possible?

A good rey/han deck can be really tough to play against. I played in a tournament this last Friday and played two games against this deck. You really want to get a lot of ambush cards in the deck (holdout blaster, unpredictable, infamous) as that is the main draw of the deck. You can stack actions with ray which can be very strong if you roll well. Second chance with the battlefield that lets you put an upgrade from your discard to your hand is super strong. I had a guy use second chance 4 times in one game. I did 39 damage to him and he still won lol. Such an epic battle.

Stack the deck with Ambush (including Ambush from Infamous) and stick Second Chance on old Han twice. Also, and this might be controversial, stick Riposte x2 in there as well. After a chain of Ambush actions, you can discharge three shields to deal three damage, which really stings.

Also, totally unrelated, whenever someone calls her 'Ray' I immediately think of Ray Romano. Personally I like to pair Ray with Brad Garret, but Han is fine too. :P

Whoops....Rey* ;)

I like that synergy of shield spending. I'll have to dig to see if I have any Riposte cards.

Thanks for doing the same thing ;) Its just habit to type Ray instead of Rey.

It's not a big deal, lots of people typo her name as 'Ray.' Really, 'Rey' is a strange name for a female character, although in some of the Romance languages 'Rey' roughly translates to 'Regal,' so maybe it's a sly hint at her origin...

I haven't seen any bad builds yet. Congratulations on getting 2 Hans. I haven't seen one yet

Thanks, pretty lucky so far. I have purchased less than 20 packs for three people and have two hans, one luke, leia and force choke. Not too bad.

Anxious to test the Han/Rey build, starting with 4 dice seems like a good way to go.

I prefer playing eHan/Leia myself. Buy eHan/eRey can be fun.

The problem with Leia/eHan is you cannot cheat in Han's dice and god roll hunt like you can with Rey/Han. You have to play fair, which gives your opponent a chance to counter.

One of the slickest (or dirty) tricks when going first with Han/Rey is to put holdout blaster on Rey, Roll Han and if you get the disrupt side, you eliminate the opponents economy before their first turn. The momentum swing from that simple line literally cripples the opponent and the game is all but won from there.

Yeah that is a pretty brutal line of play. I've had it done to me a few times now, it's super frustrating. I've only be able to come back from it once, but I got really lucky with some rolls in the second and third rounds.

So I can stack the actions? I get an action, holdout blaster uses Reys ability to get another and ambush for another?

Yup. Abusing Rey's ability is VERY popular. Add in some ambush cards plus recursion from graveyard and you got an evil engine going.
