Armored Onslaught + Mortar + Nexu

By robertpolson, in Imperial Assault Campaign

Mortar: Exhaust this card during an Imperial figure's activation. That figure gains: "Action: Choose a space within 3 spaces and roll 1 red die. Each figure and object on or adjacent to that space suffers (damage) equal to the (damage) results.

We are currently playing Bespin Gambit campaign and our imperial player is playing Armored Onslaught class deck. Today, he was playing with Nexu who were throwing grenades at our heroes. This makes no sense thematically but this was a correct way to play this right as any mercenary figure is an imperial figure?

Yes, there's no distinction between Empire/Scum in Campaign. Everything is an Imperial figure.

During a campaign, all figures belonging to the Imperial player are Imperial figures. This includes all Deployment cards with an imperial or mercenary icon.

There is distinction between imperial and mercenary if an ability calls for the affiliation symbol instead of using "imperial figure". There are at least a couple of agenda cards that require a figure with the mercenary affiliation, and there will be more in Jabba's Realm (unless I'm mistaken, the Nemeses deck has the first card that uses the imperial affiliation symbol).

Sorry, you're quite right. I'd forgotten about those cases. It does look like it's going to become a lot more important with Jabba's Realm.

Sounds like a very well trained Nexu.

Someone put a holocam on it's shock collar.

When I used the same combo I narrated that the Nexu were shooting spikes from their back.

With good narration you can usually account for any of these little weird anomalies in the game

Just because something is called "Mortar" doesn't mean it has to literally be an actual mortar.

Replicate the mechanics with good narration and your Revels may even have a good time
