Nora wesslex card understanding.

By mobow213, in Star Wars: Armada

So he ability sound like she gives othwr ships gain a crit icon. But is it in addition to the bomber dice rolls.

Friendly squadrons with BOMBER at distance 1 gain: "crit icon": The defending hull zone loses 1 shield."

So if the hull zone doesnt have a shield does it give a exrra crit effect/dmg Or does she just gives other bombers a crit icon that just strips a shield from yhat hull zone

For another friendly squadrons with BOMBER at distance 1 when they roll a crit icon they can either use the standard crit effect (deal the first damage card face up) OR make the defending hull zone lose 1 shield (before applying the damage from the dice).

So for example if that squadron rolls a black hit/crit and you choose that crit effect, the defending hull zone loses one shield and then you apply the 2 damage from the die. BUT if for that attack you deal a damage card, you cannot deal it face up because you used another crit effect instead of the standard.

Hope my explanation is clear :)

So all she does it give other bomber the ability to spend a crit to reduce a shield.

So with a hit/crit against a target with two shield and a hit/crit. Normal you just cost the target two shield. But with nora you can spend to crit to reduce a shield, and apply the two dmg to drop the last shield and apply a dmg card.

So she helps ships drop shields even faster

Haven't had an ability to open my new loot, but it sounds like she works essentially like the Ion cannons upgrade from the VSD expansion. Basically, she has a critical effect to deal one additional damage to the enemy shields instead of the normal critical effect, and she shares that ability with nearby squadrons.

Nora's ability and the Standard Critical Effect (SCE for short) are both chosen and resolved during the Resolve Critical Effects step of the attack. The difference is that SCE immediately changes the rules of dealing damage before damage is assigned, and Nora actually deals damage before damage is assigned in a specific way. This is what happens with all non-standard critical effects in the game that aren't a variation of the SCE or XX-9 Turbolasers.

So all she does it give other bomber the ability to spend a crit to reduce a shield.

No, she doesn't SPEND a crit. She resolves a critical effect. That can either be this one "deal another shield damage" or the standard one "deal your first damage card face up." But yes, she strips shields faster.

She does. It makes you a threat because while they can redirect the damage from the dice they cant redirect the crit because it happens before the redirect works.

She's a spooky lady.

Used her to great effect last night. She helped strip 4 shields off of 2 ships before hits started landing. It is seriously good

And perfectly fair after we loyal citizens have had so long happily terrorizing the galaxy with Rhymer.
