Carrying your droid

By flarebright, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

I would really appreciate some opinion and advise on rules for carrying silhouette 0 droids.

Special Modification (page 80) has a really cute picture with mechanic and a small droid hanging out on her shoulder. We also have rules for crafting/buying silhouette 0 droids.

So PC have cool option of carrying tiny droid pets shoulder angels style or maybe keep them in backpack and bring them out when wanted for some pokemon (I choose you) humor.

But i did not see any rules for rules on carrying silhouette 0 droid creatures and could really use some advise on this one.

How much encumbrance would a silhouette 0 droids use?

When sneaking does a carried droid also need to make stealth check or only PC?

Can carried droid make assists/ranged attacks or would it need to "dismount" first.

Encumbrance would depend on how big I would think. Just compare to objects/gear in the game and use that as a guide.

I would say 'sneaking' checks need to be made by those doing the sneaking.

Common sense I would think says it depends on how they're being carried as to whether they can assist or fight.

Per the gear chapter, a character being carried has an Encumbrance value of 5 + Brawn, and the Silhouette of the character has no apparent effect. I assume that value increases if the character being carried is himself carrying any gear.

Thanks for the feedback. I forgot that we have general rules for carrying characters already. Those are a great starting point. So i will use a them as baseline which would make a brawn 1 character with no gear have be 6 encumbrance. And then probably house rule that Silhouette 0 character would take half of encumbrance of Silhouette 1 which would turn it to 3. 3 encumbrance seems ok for a tiny droid with no gear.

Roughly the size of an AP mine. Sounds about right I agree.

Just make sure the droid doesn't have any gear of its own (built-in or not, it still adds Encumbrance) or else that number may rise considerably.

Yea that makes total sense. Carrying drone itself is heavy enough already. Trying to adding equipment to droid in addition to PC's equipment would hit max limit very fast even including backpack bonus.

Yeah, but guys. We're talking about a shoulder droid!

A cute little shoulder droid! With wings that fold out and has a mini flame jet that could light say . . .small camp fires for smores? and a sound effect that goes "Rawr!"

No?

Okay, I think the Rules as Written (RAW) are great. However, with contragrav and some of the floating probe droids we've seen in the shows, I think a "deployed" or activated droid would be light enough of self ambulatory to not cause any Enc, when alite upon a shoulder.
