What are you even talking about? There are like 2 "negative"/hating threads on the front page and I am like 75% sure the "Passing on this wave" thread is from a troll.

If you see a thread you think is stupid don't post in it and it will die. Being dramatic and posting a thread complaining about people complaining will definitely not help.

Well yea, if I don't like the wave I don't salt up my game store because I go home.

It's still a bit ugly out there but it appears to be improving. Hopefully the holiday season is improving moods.

i remember a time during wave 2 that i was foolish and impatient-i complained about lack of balance and didnt even wait for the game to take shape (2 waves just isnt enough). i saw other wargames, found their balance is even worse, and returned to armada during early wave 3/4.

do not forget people are just humans. they can often have huge troubles in their lives and vent on gaming and its flaws (because everything has flaws).

what i cannot understand, however, is people unable to listen to reason. i have a guy in my FLGS insisting that imperials are so much more powerful than rebels. i calmly hand him the regionals data. he doesnt care. i then admit imperials have advantage in some areas, then state areas where rebels have the advantage (basic stuff like more points-efficient flotillas), he wont listen.

Don't you understand that how he feels and him being right are far more important than actual data? Pshaw, data is nothing but numbers and puffery!

Have you considered using Rebels to show him the error of his ways, haha?

In his defense, the data is unable to take into account player skill. It could be that Imperials are better, but that the data does not reflect it.

Don't get me wrong. I love the regional data, and it tells us a TON, but his conclusion isn't necessarily wrong, but of course the data doesn't support it either.

imperials APPEAR overpowered. I thought the same thing at first because looking at the ships alone Imperials have it better. But once you add in upgrade cards, squadrons, and Rebel speed it turns the tides. Actually only play rebels because there 3 imperial players in the area lol, so i kinda got my ass handed to me until i realized some of the shenanigans i can do (dear god i love Gallant Haven lol) that can easily nullify what the Imperials were trying to do. Easily screwed up though, i kinda ended my own games several times. I do feel like its an uphill battle but its my own skill, not the faction, causing it.

Slightly off topic but its kinda the same thing in Xwing. Sooo many newer players rage at imperial ships, fast forward a few months they more hate scum large ships and rebel regen than imperial shenanigans lol.

I guess imperials are just suppose to appear all big and mean and overpowered? nah, cant possibly be that.

Well, with the Empire having the better-looking ships and the moral high ground, I can't blame people just being overawed.
